True, but you still do not need to shiver... that is my two cents. :)

If you shiver over little things like this, what will you do if you fall down and break your leg with your femur sticking out of your skin?

:) I am more very specific when doing technical stuff, shiver hmmmm, might not be the correct word, rather disgusted to see someone treating the injectors like that........ :)

"not what you did, disgusted on this.................then using two wires he attached to the connectors on the injector earlier he gave it power using a normal car battery and repeated the process several times..................."

'varunatech',

Above said method is practiced by most of our bases who are not competent with correct way of cleaning injectors.

Reason for this is they are not educated how to handle injectors.

I too do not agree to above method.

In my humble opinion.... cars with GDI engines are alergic to aggresive solvents mascarading as additives. Please be aware.

I ruined a High pressure pump of a toyota vista GV50 - 3sFSE engine-D4 .

Auto miraj -Aththidiya , where the job was done denied any ill effect and as usual in sri lanka claimed that the pump failed for some other reason.

I did not argue too much with them because they have done very good jobs for me before. the repair cost for parts were 90K.

beware GDI owners.

Machan i need to know how ro clean my injectors in right way..plz explain hw..hw about STP fuel system cleaners..? I"ve used STP carb clean , it done verygood job.. What is the merhod??

The best method to clean injectors is using an Ultrasonic machine. Those machines are available in leading auto shops. They take out the injectors and place in a special liquid bath and ally Ultasonic waves. These waves clean the injectors. Then they will run a flow pattern test, which will give an indication on flow rates and fuel injection patterns.

Secondly you can use a injector cleaner fluid through the injectors using a special gadget. This is effective and most places in SL offer this service too. I have used BG products and other like 3M, WURTH are effective too.

Finally you can add an additive to the tank and run the car. This will slowly clean the entire fuel system.

From above three, the first one is the most effective, but only clean the injectors but does it very well.

Second will help to clean the engine chambers a bit too.

Final one will clean the entire fuel system, but may be not effective on highly clogged injectors.

Hope this helps, and there are lot more information if you search the forum...........

You may do a long run for better result. E01 would have been ideal.

;whmsujith;,

What you have mentioned is correct I do once a month on E01. Long run with a fuel additive do good for the engine.

I use only pure ACETONE recommended dose for full tank of fuel. after that run for another few hundred KMs then engine performs very well.

Most of the fuel additives are based with Acetone.

could u tell what is the pure ACETONE dosage (the amount u add for full tank ) what u mean of pure acetone (Industrial Acetone purity is 98% so is this not suitable or should but Laboratory Acetone it nearly 100%)

'hatharasinghe',

2 % for a gallon of petrol I pay 1000.00 rupees for a gallon of acetone at Bang-shall street Colombo 11.
