I've been spending months and months looking for a suitable car,and both of these came to the top of my list.I prefer more to the axela than the corolla as I want to be an unusual guy.Fuel Economy is not much considered as I'm travelling only 150-200 km per month. But I heard the Axela's maintainence cost and parts cost is a little bit higher than the 121.Still i didn't get a clear vision about the Mighty Mazda Axela but i know everything about 121.Please inform me about these comparing with the 121,

-Performance

-Styling

-Handling

-Fuel Economy

-Maintainence

-Driving Satisfaction

-Cost of replacing parts

But please pay attention-my budget falls around 2.5-2.8 million. In that range i can go for a 2003-2004 K series mazda axela, but in toyota i can go for only a 2000-2001 H series (Preferring only for a luxel or a G).I'm not so much worried about the resale value. All i want is a good option for the price i spend.

PLZ TELL YOUR OPINION AND HELP ME WHAT TO CHOOSE!!! I STARTED 2 TOPICS IN CAR BUYING INFORMATION ,BUT I DIDN'T GET ANY SATISFYING REPLIES.PLZ BE KIND ENOUGH TO TELL WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT THE MAZDA!!!!

I had a Mazda Axela 2007 model; it is really good car with comfort, quality of build material and driving pleasure ... etc.

When you compare the Axela you could feel how cheap they have done the interior in Axio (tell you honestly after I sold my Axela I just had an idea to go for Axio but after look @ the car I gave up my Idea).

Also you won't feel that much of luxury with Axio or 121.

Based on my experienced every day I used to go office during traffic time and it did around 9km/L

Outstation up to 14km/L. by the way one of my friend bought the Axio on the same period and he told me he is also getting same or little more than this figure so based on my experience don't worry about fuel consumption, meantime for the parts there are lots of place you can buy so i don't think it will be far higher than Toyota.

People are just passing the message saying bad fuel consumption and high maintenance cost without having own experience.

These two cars were compared many times in AL. Run a search you will find a lot of info. Personally I would choose the Axela over the 121. Axela is great car and imo its worh for the money compared to 121.

Thanx specially to Mazda Axela and reckless.mazda axela plz tell me more about this car.i think i must dump my idea about 121.But I've heard axela is uncomfortable.I don't think so,but I want a thorough survey about the awsome Mazda "Veyron".I saw many videos on youtube.A 2005 axela defeats a 2011 corolla.Plz tell me more about the performance.mazda axela did you find any problem with this car????????

Axela is a bloody good car. But don't buy it with expectation to race every other car on the road (you might be dissapointed) - on most average cars, it's the driver that matters most of the time :)

A good driver will enjoy both Axela and Corolla but if someone drives both (in similar conditions) they are likely to pick the Mazda.

Axela, when it came out in 2004, was a car ahead of it's time - easily comparable in terms of luxury and options to current Allions.

But since you're buying a used car - your best option is to drive a few specimens.

-Performance-Axela wins

-Styling-Probably axela but it depends on how you think

-Handling-Axela wins

-Fuel Economy-Corolla is better

-Maintainence-Corolla is easy

-Driving Satisfaction-More or less both similar

-Cost of replacing parts-Corolla is low cost

Due to my personal idea,Axela is the best car that I can go for and I think.I think it is far more better than the Axio in every way,as i'm not worried about the fuel economy.I travelled on one of my friends one, and it's not that much exciting,as I've tested in many road conditions (carpet roads, broken roads, hills etc...) as I'm living in Kegalle City.Even a 2000 H series 121 felt better than the Axio.

Anyway, I prefer Mazda than the ugly Toyotas.

I want to get a 2003-2004 Mazda Axela with Tiptronic, Multifunction,Climate Control (This means the Highest Grade). But I'm not going for a Mazda 3 as many says JDM is better.

PLZ TELL ME MORE ABOUT THIS Axela!!! :sad-smiley-067:

What do you mean by uncomfortable? With my personal experience for the comfort and luxury I will give first place to Mazda Axela compare with Toyota Axio or 141 or 121 even Honda Civic.

Normally when I go to Trincomalee/Putalam I used to accelerate up to 140-150km/h and I never feel any issue with control ... etc

I have a M3 - Please tell me what missing option your talking about when compared to Axela :o?

If at all the 3 May be having a bit more ground clearance than the Axcela - which is good - Other than that I think all have answered the questions already. The only edge the 121 will have over the Mazda is the fuel consumption rest is either equal or far better.

Enough & more parts and freely available

Axela 1.5L is 1 bhp ahead than Mazda3 1.6L in horse power. Some Axelas having Auto light/wiper features, climatic controlled AC. Hope that some M3 also have these.

Axela comes with high quality fabric seats while M3 mainly has leather or rexene seats.

Mazda 3 comes in1.5 also.. Which is same to Axela. And my M3 has Auto light/wipers and climate control...

About seats.. Again it's an option..

Performance-Axela

Styling-Axela no doubt (more dramatic, europian styling)

Handling-Axela, sporty suspension (Not all cars in this category got multilink suspensions in the rear)

Fuel Economy-Corolla

Maintainence- It's how you get at..

Driving Satisfaction-zoom zoom of course, fun to drive and sporty

Cost of replacing parts-Corolla

Got nothing special to say about the famouse family sedan, corrolla stays in the boring place as it used to be.

Drives a 2007 axela  (heard that M3 consumes more fuel than the axela and it came from thailand(assembled))

M3 105bhp, Axela 114bhp
