except tata, maruti,viva elite, i think all the others are beyond your range, considering the ongoing foreign currency rates and car cif prices............. but if i were you, i will sell the permit and go for something like swift, FB 15, or whatever in the range of 18-22 lak..............

Not really. Back then, in eastern europe you didn't have much of a choice. These days it's just a reward for those who have been in state service for a defined period.
