I looked up some old posts, but couldn't find a thread dedicated to this topic. So I decided to open a new one.
I'm not sure to what extent it is ethical to post names of car sales here, but it will definitely help new comers (like me) to not to get their hands burned by "kalukada" businessmen.
Personally I want to know some details of reputed vehicle sales in SL as I'm searching to buy a car ASAP.
As I've heard; some vehicle importers (even some reputed ones) buy damaged cars from auctions in Japan for a bargain price and repair them at their own garages in Japan, then import them to SL and sell them with a huge margin. (Not sure whether it is true or not)
As we all know, almost every car sale in SL, rolls back odometer to get a good value to the car.
Some, prints fake JAAI certificates and auction sheets.
Seriously, are there any reputed trustworthy vehicle traders left? Share your thoughts and previous experiences!?
A guy advertises a mileage blocker on the quick site saying that his device blocks the vehicle mileage from changing on the odometer. Is it legal to advertise stuff like this?
Bought a 2007 (Reg 2011) Vitz SCP90 (Mileage 180K+) for the family (will be used by my father). Seems to be in good condition but had some new owner repairs/replaces done to have a free mind.
Sinopec 95 oct performs much better than ceypetco. Also burns tad faster ( maybe because the car is driven harder because of said performance jump)
Auto Diesel no difference.
What's with the Sri Lankan car community and the need to have a Facebook group for every model out there? A guy who was very active in the 'scene' for a particular model (he was like the godfather for that model) migrated to Europe and started another Facebook group for a different model in that country - unsurprisingly all the members in that group are Sri Lankans
