Oil In Spark Plugs

my car is eg8 single carb...when i examine engine to change plugs,one of spark plug hole filled up with oil (2nd one)..others were ok.... wht's the problem??? but car doest hear a miss....

i askd frm mechani he told need to chang valve gasket cover & spark tubes.....i hav e changed those about 6months ago ang bought 4m t*** motors....

also i seen tht no2 spark wire has twisted...will it be a problem???? thn how much will be wire sets and packing set??

plz help guys....should i need to replze whole bunch @once??? (packin &wire set)

are you sure that you changed spark plug tube gromets with the valve cover replacement. some times mechanics change only the valve cover gasket to cut the cost of parts. these are the possibilities

1. Spark plug tube gromets are old

2. They replaced it but its not alined or installed it right

3. Didnt torque the valve cover bolts enough

plug wires will be ok if there is no break and spark is not leaking. if you are planing to keeping the car for a long time and you doubt about them i would replace the wires.

Some times the oil on the plug may be which had spilled when they changed the packing of the cover. Dint they cleaned the head area after changing the cover packing? normally the head area is cleaned with diesel and wipe off well put a small piece of cloth inside the plugs also clean them up. Your car has plug hole was it full of oil even it was shown on the spark plug lead wire cover lead. Was the plug tightly fitted to the engine head.

There you go. Pretty comprehensive answers. This happened to me in 3 of the 4 plugs after my

Paint guy touched up the valve cover and didn't replace packing. Hopped to the mech on one cylinder like a landmaster. Cost 1200 to replace packing.

This is not a big issue, change the oil seals for the tapet cover for spark plugs
