Help The Lady To Pick One....

Question

Posted (edited)

1. Any recommendations what to buy for 3.8? Concerned about Looks / Reliability

2. Give me some good Advise what should I check when buying a recondition car. Eg. documents.

3. Are there agents/companies who does the vehicle checking and report or similar?

3. Are cars good if they are JAAI certified? or it's an unreliable thing?

4. Anyone know a Brand New car model around that price?

Thanks in advance

Thanks again...

Any advise on checking the condition of the car (question #3)? or do I have to take a mechanic or similar with me?

RA

If this is your first car, I'd suggest consulting friends and relatives who are knowledgeable on the subject, or who have regular mechanics whom they trust. If not, and you have a regular trustworthy mechanic, why not take him along?

wait madam, I'm coming...... Where da hell is my tool box,????

P.S. If your planing to buy a Hybrid, its useless to take your next door garage fellow with you to inspect, neither I don't think Toyota or Honda agent will release a mechanic from his duties to companion you to this purchase.

Why do I get this funny feeling we have had a similar discussion before......

Anyway there are plenty of vehicles for 3.8 Million, like Watchman has mentioned a lot will depend on what you plan to use the vehicle for ( eg: school run, marketing, recreational etc... plus your own driving style/skill. I know a lot of girls prefer a taller vehicle for better visibility. The other main thing is ease of parking.

The Terios or the Rush is pretty good and you could get a well maintained one under Rs 4 Million. The Jimny is also very good and ideally suits a lady.

How about a Nissan Tiida. Ideal for a lady. It's seats are sitting higher than ordinary cars and got height adjustable driver's seat hence good road visibility. My wife loved it.

True, but you can get your hands on a 2nd hand Tiida for around 3 M.Tiidas which were imported brand new by the agents for permit holders are pretty much in good condition and have fairly low mileage.

if OP is open to go for a second hand car...spending that much of money on something like a Tida is a waste IMHO. That car looks pretty ugly imo.

2nd hand, something like this makes a lot more sense :D

+1 The Tiida is an ugly ass car, I never touched them (Nissan Versa) in the states, even when the only other car Avis had in that category was a raped Chevy Cobalt.

Came as a sedan too. Interior was extremely bland, not even a decent sound system. The Chevy Cobalt and Ford Focus were much better equipped.

Didnt know that they offered the sedan version in the states. But the Tiida seems to be having a slightly better interior than the Versa
