Any Users Of Corolla 121 Dicki Light Jdm?share Your Information

I really love to go for a 121 facelift.so if any of you had or having one or experts,please give me some info.i'm talking abt the jdm g or x grades.

-does it have cvt gearbox?

-is it more spacious than the previous 121?

-any performance upgrades than the previous?

-is it more longer than the previous 121?

-how is the fuel economy?

-does the g grade have a trip computer?

I will be looking forward for the experts' and users' replies.

Replying to your info that I had a 2005 facelift 121 color sky blue. It was a XLi Grade So the options were limited. It had it had Grey Interior 1.3 Engine good on Fuel in city 13-14 outstation 16-17. d/airbags / P Shutters. P mirrors. Didn't have (front fog lights/ ABS) And fitted Bnew 14inch Alloys. Well my best friend had 2003 purple 121 which was an LX Limited didn't not have the ABS. But Space wise comparing to Diki light model and older version space wise almost the same. But I prefer 2005 facelift model cause it has a modern look.

Well as I know G grade and the Luxel are the highest grades in 121. Both has Teak dash & Touch A/C system. of cause G grade has a trip meter. Luggage space also the same ..

Actually Luxel is the highest grade, it comes with a 1.8L engine, a different gear panel and a different grill

Did you check it properly the boot space of the ice blue should be a little bit higher than the purple one because of the color

Uhhh.....from your avatar am I to presume you have the first version of the 121 ? it is the same car in different clothing. Physical dimensions, frame etc are pretty much the same so interior space, etc won't change. It was just a mid cycle refresh for the model, so cosmetic changes were made to make it look "current?". So short of making the bumpers longer the facelifted 121 is not going to be any much larger than the previous one.

From what I can remember from the sales brochures....it is pretty much the same car...engines are the same, gearbox is the same A/T. Granted certain options were standardized for certain grades or across all grades (for the JDM). Toyota did claim that with the face-lifted version that it got a different Japanese ECO rating which probably was achieved through some minor tweaks in the engine, etc...

Not sure about the trip computer...

So, personally, I wouldn't replace an old 121 with a face lifted 121 unless I was purely in it for the looks. If you already do have a pre-facelift 121...why not go to a different car all together ? Maybe a 141, or even a completely different brand if finances permit it.

Facelift B/new imports had the same yr2000 interior but JDM facelift ones had a newer interior like the dashboard.

JDM facelift had Electronic throttle which makes it a little more fuel efficient and the engine had a different head with Irredium spark plugs as standard. I was told that spark plug dimentions are different to the previous gen thus not interchangeable.

Aha..so that is what they did to get the higher ECO rating

As for the interior...isn't it just the dashboard top that changed ? like spacing to run a fake wooden panel and the shape of the radio housing or something...but granted the facelift does look a little bit nicer than the squashed frog-eyed look of the pre-facelift...

I have no idea how drastically different the fuel economy of a 141 is compared to 121, nor can I speculate on how it can't be any lesser than a Allion or Premio 240 (I can't imagine how a 141's fuel economy can be that much lesser than a Premio or Allion's but this world is a strange place).

At the end of the day what matter is you buy what you know will make you happy to use on a day to day basis
