AVALANCHE
Sira, There are two models, American Accord (CF9) and Euro Accord (CF4). I am using a CF9 model ( 120,000km on the clock). I will list some pros and cons, personally I have experienced. Pros 1) It has a good suspension setup, front double wishbone and rear multi link, combined with the weight of the car, it is comfortable, steady in high speeds and cornering. 2) you can reach 100kmph within 8.0-9.0 seconds, with 2000CC motor (F20B5). 3) You can find lot of after market parts online, because this was the best selling car in USA within 1998-2002 era 4) Personally I like the looks, obviously that is one of the reasons I bought the car 5) If you are concerned about the fuel efficiency, I'd say it is not bad. It does 11-13 kmpl on long runs but drops down to 7-9 kmpl in city driving ( Mine is an Automatic ) 6) Interior is spacious and boot space it more than enough for a car in that class. 7) Good visibility, when you are sitting on the driver's seat, which makes it easy to drive the car 8) Personally, it is a pleasure to drive this machine, I just wish mine was a manual, but couldn't find a manual in good condition when I bought this. Cons 1) Power to weight ratio of this car is not the best you can ask for, 6th gen Accord is popular as a heavy car. 2) This car is popular in USA for automatic transmission failure, it says 5-7% failure rate ( I did not experience it ) 3) Finding spare parts could be tricky, but you can always go to Agents. 4) Most of the Accords during 1998-02 , came down as Brand New vehicles. And those cars are equipped with OBD1 ECUs, cars came down as reconditioned are equipped with OBD2. 5) You MUST use Honda power steering oil and Honda ATF otherwise it will lead you to a disaster. * So far I had to replace the alternator, apart from routine maintenance For more info, you can refer http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=1502084 Edited December 26, 2013 by AVALANCHE

AVALANCHE
I am not 100% sure about that, Did some research and this is what I could find. Even though this is not a very reliable source (Wikipedia), they have not mentioned any plant in India for Accords, in this Article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Accordhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Accord Then again, in this article, they have mentioned about a production of Accords , since 1995, in India. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Honda_assembly_plants So I am also confused. I'd like to suggest you this VIN decoder, It will show you some details, such as the country of assembly, specific plant (sometimes) body style, engine type etc. For my car, It gave me the Accord plant in Ohio, USA. I believe, all the brand new 6th Gen Accords ( American Accords ) would give the same result.
iRage
I was under the impression that Honda India made quite a few cars for the Indian domestic market. Not sure when the Accord started to be manufactured there though. https://www.hondacarindia.com/about/companyprofile.aspx EDIT: So this article says Accord/CR-Vetc was manufactured at the Greater Noida facility. Since the first link says this particular plant came in tolife in 1997 Accord production in India can go all the way back to that time as the Wikipedia page Avalanche sited states. http://world.honda.com/news/2013/c130402Indian-Market/index.html EDIT 2: But then this wikipedia page on Honda India suggests Accord was manufactured in India from year 2000 onwards and stopped in 2013 (probably with the change of model and the Accord going Hybrid and Honda India not having the facilities to manufacturer Hybrids ?..I am just speculating here). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Cars_India#Facilities Edited December 29, 2013 by iRage
malinda7
How about the CF3 model when compared to other US models?
Faizur Rahman
Hi Guys, I have come across Accord CF9 and obsessed with the look and options it has. However my friends have not recommended it coz of its less fuel efficiency and the expensive maintenance cost. Are there anyone who is using Accord CF9 ? need some advice. iRage
Well your friends do have a point. This and cars like the Camry are heavy cars and do drink more fuel than your Vitz. At the end of the day...if this is the car you want and this is the car that will make you take 2nd, 3rd or 4th glances every time you park it and walk away from it...then buy it. It is your money, your car, you are the one who has to live with it day in and day out. You will figure out how to maintain it and run it. When you reach a point you cannot do so..just sell it off. Better to have loved and lost than not loved at all. The nice thing about a car like the CF is that they are most likely considerably cheaper than your Civic and Corolla and Sunny because not many people want them. So you get a lot of car for the money (any extra money you save from buying an overpriced Corolla or Premio can be saved for the maintence work). True..finding parts, especially body parts, may not be as straightforward as finding parts for a Premio, but where there is a will, there is a way. Some of us on the forum have had cars that were 1 of less than a handful on the island and still managed to maintain it. You just need to be proactive about it...not reactive.
