Pls advice what to do. One simple possibility is due to dirty or faulty ABS sensors. If the scanner shows a ABS sensor get all of them cleaned first and see if the fault disappear. You can get them cleaned anyway for they must have become dirty now unless they have been cleaned before. If the sensor is faulty then you would have to change the faulty one. BTW I just noticed that OP is using a email address as his log in. If it is a real email then it is not such a good idea to use it in a public forum. It could be the voltage regulator which is repairable, bushes or the coil. See if it can be repaired, if not you can replace with a used item. With repairs it often depends on the quality of the repair. You can normally even buy the regulator as a separate part sometimes brand new. But most newer alternators are not servicable which is a shame.......

First check the new price before you look at used parts when it comes to things like abs sensor.

0 Davy
haliq2009, How did you come to conclude that the ABS light is on due to a bad sensor? Did you have it checked? One or more faulty sensors is just one possible cause as Rumesh88 has correctly pointed out above. It can also be due to a faulty connection or a blown fuse in the ABS circuit. What exactly is wrong with the rotor/armature? Does it require re-winding or are the brush contact surfaces worn out? I don't think a good mechanic would have taken the risk and re-assembled the alternator, knowing that the armature is faulty. It's funny how a part that was "unavailable" is suddenly available for replacement now. So if you don't want to experience any more breakdowns, I suggest you either tell your mechanic to cut the crap and come straight or find a guy who will fix it properly. Also, if the rotor needs to be replaced, I think you are better off with a new or recon alternator altogether.

0 Rumesh88
I too smell a fish here because if the mechanic suspected a fault in the rotor he shouldn't have repaired the rest of the alternator like Davy said. BTW when you said your "battery light sparking" did you notice any problem like headlights getting dimmer or difficulty to start etc., basically the obvious signs of a drained battery?. Did they check the battery voltage before and after attending to the alternator? I get the feeling that your alternator output could be OK while the actual issue is something else. Edit: Just get your the alternator wiring checked for previous modifications to accommodate a non-standard alternator. (Usually your alternator should have a four wire connector at the back. Some of our electricians modify wiring to this connector to retrofit alternators with three-wire connectors). 0 haliq2009@gmail.com
Well I got the vehicle now with the replaced rotor well hope it will hold on,as the mechanic said nothing to worry as now the major potion of the alternator has been replaced, hope it will be OK. Well I believe that the mechanic is concerned on the prices and in the process tries to repair stuff as the alternator costs about 20,000. As after replacing the rotor costed only 4000 To replace rotor.

0 The Don
I think guys over here don't understand the use of the "Mark Solved" button. It is to mark the most helpful answer in solving your problem. Its a bit silly for the OP to mark one of his own posts as the most helpful answer It is a method of thanking other members who help you rather than promoting yourself and hilighting the solution to the problem. 0 haliq2009@gmail.com
Hi don thanks for being judgmental as it was a mistake from my end to select solved as I thought that marking solved would help the other members who would need your valuable advice. Thanks a lot guys for taking time to text your advice.
