Toyota Mirai

Hi guys. As some of our members already know from Facebook,I moved from much loved SriLanka for some time! Anyways thats totally irrelevant! 

So I have upto now seen 5 Toyota Mirais. Well for one, Its HIDEOUS and looks CRAP!

Apart from that though Its supposed to be the 1st hydrogen car, also Toyota is giving buyers 3 years of free fuel. Also its some real eco tree hugger car as  per Toyota. I know right. that sound blaahhh.

 

I dont wanna buy one (just got something which is the totally opposite of the Mirai). I just thought we could have a conversation on the Mirai.

Oh. The Mirai starts at $57,500 ?? . While the Priass starts at $23,000.. ?

fuel cells seems to be Toyotas preferred solution for their future models. They have lost the electric battle to Renault-Nissan and Tesla. Hybrids are an interim solution which will be discontinued,because while getting more complex and costly, their fuel efficiency is almost reached with advancements in the non-hybrid Gasoline engines. I think at least some more automakers have to bring in some fuel cell vehicles on large scale,for Toyotas plan to succeed.

There are Mirais in Sri Lanka ?! I didn't know we even had Hydrogen stations ! 

Been a passenger in one on a test course.It felt pretty comfy and zippy

Not in SL bro. Thats why I mentioned that I am not in SL. This was in the US.

Mirai has an eye-watering price of $60000+.Considering for a car for four passengers and basically a sedan-prius design the price is too much.Anyway hydrogen might be the only hope for the future.So mirai might succeed.Someday in Sri Lanka 'mudalalis' will also buy them???.The only thing that bothers me is safety.If the hydro tank get a chance to break during an accident,that would be a tragic.
