99 dash vehicle number

Hi All,

I am looking for a vehicle these days and I came across a good condition vehicle which the number plate 99 dash. Does anybody know what is 99 dash series vehicle is? Thanks in advance.

It is re-registered vehicle which earlier used by Embassy or UN in Sri Lnaka.

If I'm not mistaken, RMV has issued 99 for few vehicles once 65- was over.

For the Re-registered vehicles and converted vehicles they have issued 325- (as I remember).

Re-registered and converted falls into two categories.

65 series was over just before the introduction of English numbers so 99 was given but here are only few.

@wolseley's answer is the correct one. The embassy/UN story is not correct.

If you are concern with number i believe you could get a EA-XXXX number by paying Rs. 75 K or so.

You will be able to get more information from RMV how to get about this.
