Advice on buying Opel Astra

Greetings gentlemen,

Please provide your thoughts on buying an Opel Astra Station Wagon to be used as a workhorse. By a workhorse I mean she will have to run around 250 km per week in and around Colombo without whining. She can rest on the weekends and will get the tender loving care she deserves. I expect nothing more than the preemptive running repairs for the next 5 years.

C14SE engine - 1.4L (1389cc) inline 4 cylinder petrol, Multipoint EFI, 82 hp (61 kW) at 5200 rpm

5-speed manual transmission

YOM - 1999

Agent imported.

200K on the ODO. 

1. What would be a reasonable price range for this?

2. Please comment if this will meet my expectations in terms of reliability.

3. Anything specific I should look for when buying this?

4. I would also like to know if S@*H0$@ M0t0r$ still imports spares and does repairs.

5. Please suggest a good mechanic and a place to source parts.

Surely the user will be happy of your choice .

Does the car's a/c work?. Any idea of maintenance history? - as the engine has a t belt.

The joke of a local agent would'nt give you the time of the day,.. let alone help you with your car,.☺️☺️
