what are the correct steps to start /stop an automatic car?

I used to press brake pedal and stop the car.then put the gear to "N" mode.then apply handbrake and afterward put into "P " Mode.

when starting,i put again to "N" mode while pressing brake pedal.then  lower the hand brake &  put back to "D" mode..

I wanna know is this the correct way especially when vehicle has to be stopped in an uphill or downhill?

thank you in advance

If your parking on an incline , it is advisable that the parking brake is engaged first, so that the immediate shock /  pressure on transmission is reduced. If its' done on a level , i don't see a difference.

Turn off

Press service break > shift to neutral > apply parking break > release service break > reapply service break > shift to P > switch off

Turn on

Gear in P > Start car > apply service break > release parking break > shift to R or D

Starting

1. Press the brake pedal

2. Start the car

3. Shift to D or R

4. Release the Hand Brake

5. Release the brake pedal and drive away

Parking

1. Press the brake pedal and wait till car is completely stationary

2. Apply Hand Brake

3. Shift to P

4. Stop the the engine

5. Release the brake pedal and get out of the car

This is the correct sequence! Any other method will jerk the car or will put unnecessary wear on the gear box.

Before starting, why need to press the brake friends? I usually don't do in my Wingroad Y12. It is CVT.

And it starts??

Yes Some Hondas,Mitsubishis and even Toyotas require Brake Pedal to be pressed. Hence pressing the brake pedal is the fail-safe method for any car.
