Hi mate yeah this speed is not that much for the 406 and i touch 110 easily. But i didnt wanna try at that road and i wasn;t too sure about my car as it was about to put in to the garage for some repairs (purchased only a month back :-) ). and specially am not much familiar with that road. and i lost sight coz they flew away :D ... anyway nice to see a peugeot owner (i assume) in the forum. Thinking of making a complaint for the admin for not having "Peugeot" in specific brands at forum :-(

Hi Guys

The quickest I have gone is 290 km/h in an Audi RS6.

It has a stage one chip by ABT which has increased power from 580 bhp to 700 bhp.

Had to slow down for some trucks on the road.

Fastest in Sri Lanka was 230 km/h in a Ford Escort RS Turbo, stage 4 tune.

Interesting, what model year was the Escort RS? Are there are more Escort RSs here?

the escort was a Mark 3 series 1. there were inly 2 turbos in SL, the other one was a series 2. mine was an '86 car.

we had lots of mods on it, accralite forged pistons, cosworth turbo, bosch competition fuel pumps etc. was an awesome car, all the stuff was from escort specialists in the uk.

That Audi sounds impressive, where was it, Germany?

and as to the the SL speed, where did you manage that? and is that car still around?

the Audi was in abu dhabi, on one of the truck roads.

in sri lanka, this was at the Katukurunda track, after running one of the races, somewhere in 1997.

the car is still around, but sadly, in bad shape.

impressive, do you still have the car?

im guessing the Series 2 was the white car that was advertised ages ago in the Mo_tor Mag wasnt it? always wondered what became of it...

yes, still have the car, although in a bad state....

the S2 was advertised, you are right. no idea on its present whereabouts though.

was an awesome handler. the biggest differences between series 1 and 2 were the final drive, LSD and ABS. the series 1 was a quicker car in standard form, and had better gear ratios.

Not thinking of disposing of it i suppose? maybe if the buyer promises to sort it out? :)

can you give me your email ID? cos honestly, I need to give you more info before you see it. I have no problem though, but I myself haven't seen the car for over 2 years as am overseas at present. I can mail you the details. mine is [email protected]. dont want to violate any rules on this site. thanks.

I would love to give it to an enthusiast, is the answer to your question.

Yes, I did bro. Stopped racing after the accident at pannala, in 2003, lost my brother and 4 friends. Still have my car, though, the Suzuki cultus. I want to get back into racing, really miss it..
