Thats gotta be a first on this thread.

My Japanese may not be upto scratch, but whats clear to me on that display is under 10kmpl.

Undoubtedly a fine example of Cali's "Thoroughly researched" crowd.

but whats clear to me on that display is under 10kmpl.

Yes, it displays something below 10 for sure. :sad-smiley-067: Coz, on a 3rd gen Prius, the current fuel consumption indicates with the bars on the display. I think the 25 value is the cumulative average.

wonder what the two different set of figures are. It's clear that it is doing less than 10km/l,

but notice to the right of the 25.4km/l it reads 60km/h. probably an average?

BTW, does the Prius engine have VVTi?

So I see you went crazy and pumped a whole 1/5th of a petrol tank before leaving home to head off on the highway :P

And dude, you gotta be sensible. If you're using the instantaneous speed (175) you should also consider the instantaneous fuel consumption (<10km/l), if you want to use your overall average fuel consumption of 25km/l you should also consider your average speed of 60kmph. Aney Hukei....

Do you think we are idiots? On a 3rd gen Prius(may 2nd gen too but I'm not aware on that), when you take off your foot from the accelerator pedal, the fuel consumption indicator eventually goes up to it's maximum level(40). which doesnt meant to say that it does 40 kmpl even on the particular speed too. Coz the speed may obviously reduce as long as your foot is away from the pedal. Get lost mate. Better you find some Chinese people to tell those. :sport-smiley-004:
