Carburator Specialist

Question

Posted

Hi Everyone,

I want to know who's the best guy for Weber Carbs in town? I heard that there's a guy named "Carburator Banda" who is good. How many of you can second that? And how many have gone to him and actually got their Carbs fixed up.

Inviting all responses and opinions..

Cheers!

Three years ago the guy charged us about 4000 bucks for dismantling carb cleaning with petrol and refitting. I dread to think what he would have charged if something actually needed to be repaired.

Also I was advised to go early in the morning as there usually was a crowd there and he is said to be sometimes a bit 'Intoxicated' later in the day..... :P

Doubt it if most guys are open during the holidays. Good chance for you to do a DIY carb clean. Get a carb cleaner from a auto parts shop and follow the instructions. Shouldnt be a problem as long as you are not tuning it on your own. Carb cleaner is just a spray on which you would normally spray on top of the carb from where the air filter bolts on.

I think this is due to lean mixture

the presea R10 came with a carb.. only R11 came with EFI.. i bought an older 93 model not the r11

But why????

I can't fathom as to why you didn't get the EFI one, in this day and age carbs are troublesome and an inconvenience.

Because there were no good condition R11's for sale for the past 4 months. No one in their right mind who has a good car will sell theirs during this time

Increase the fuel inflow to the carb by adjusting the fuel air mix screw, if it doesnt work try a carb cleaner spray

I would rather allow the engine to idle for a couple of minutes before accelaration, if the car doesnt bog down, then ur carb is fine.

Btw what is the fuel consumption

kept the engine idle without accelerating. Car doesn't bog down.

fuel does 7 in city, which was the same figure as my previous 2 EFI Auto Presea's.

So thats it, most probably ur carb had been set for lean mixture to increase mileage, as far as im concerned nothing wrong with ur fuel system, try a fuel addictive if u think the lines are blocked

I see.. I also have to mention that time to time when i accelerate, the car doesnt go comparing to the acceleration I give.. at times only.. the pick up is not that great.. the RPM doesnt go up either when I accelerate and suddenly it goes up when I dont take my foot off the accelerator..this doesnt happen everytime, but only at times..

You have two options, ur questions are not very conclusive

If u want to try ur luck, use a fuel addictive and run for a week or so, if fails, try a carb cleaner.

If both fails go for a carb tuneup, i dont know any specalist, my case i do on my own
