Hi.

What are the Ethylene Glycol based non silicate type ready to use coolant brands?

Wurth brand all mentioned it is HOAT. Seiken doesn't mentioned such a thing.

Is the Totachi brand good?

I wouldn't trust it tbh unless they have an authorized distributor in SL

But like I said your best choice would be an OEM spec coolant, those are rated 100K kms or 5 years at the minimum so the price difference doesn't matter much. Besides you can be rest assured that those are genuine

Grab some Toyota coolant from Toy#ta L#nka or Mitsubishi coolant from Unit#d Mot#rs

That's too Pricey 2x times i believe. "Zerex Asian Vehicle Coolant" which marketed by Valvoline Agent also contains the same content as the Toyota Coolant. or else "Bear Brand (Seiken) hyper long life coolant" is a safe bet. these all prominent brands available in the market.

Do not ever use Totachi, this is some shady Brand which has some Russian Origins. people fooled by the labels with Japanese letters in it. you cant even find this Brand in Japan i think. Idemitsu is a Good brand in Japan but its not imported to SL.

Isn't it funny that although the coolant is rated as such the maintenance cycle (including shaken inspection requirements) require it to be swapped every 2 (or 3) years ? I suppose it is a blanket policy to cover cooling systems in various states of operational efficiency.

How much exactly is that ? The Corolla Touring is nearing 3 years so will require a complete fluid swap. Looking for products.

That should be the case, the manufacturer's maintenance schedule for my Lancer says the factory coolant fill is good for 8 years or 160,000Km and then replace it every 5 years/100,000km, whichever comes first

5,083LKR/4L for Mitsubishi OEM coolant back in 2023/11 @ Unit#d Mot#rs.

For an authorized agent their prices are quite reasonable

Should be even cheaper in Japan though (your touring is in Japan right? Don't tell me you brought it down to SL 😳)

I am not saying it is in SL...see...not a word :D

I wouldn't worry about it at all in Japan. Just drop it off at the dealership and they call me back when it is ready.

Geez...that is pricey just for coolant.

Ah, the new touring. For a moment I thought you brought down the BZ somehow lol

But... is it necessary to change all fluids every 3 years in SL? Shouldn't Coolant, ATF/CVTF and PSF hold up for 5 years?

Brake fluid though every 3 year change sounds reasonable.

Probably should be okay. I just don't know what they put out of the factory (99.9% certain it is what is in the book). Since the car's service manual reflects the Japanese regulated service cycle it says 3 years from new and then replace every other shaken inspection (which gives it a 4 year life span).
