Thank you Devinda_Z. But I thought it was a 1986 because, 1988 one has a kind of different tail light like this, al4sy9.jpg

you were right on the Y.O.M cuz the car picture i put up was the first Supra of that generation in the island and is running a 14- plate :)

Okay. There are also a couple of 1988 ones in Sri Lanka right? I remember seeing a black one with a body kit.

i had a hunch it was something Korean so went through Hyundai & Kia but got beaten to Daweoo!

i think you know the current owner of the car (D_G) - lets just say its part of one of the most desirable collections of performance cars in the island! :D

& yes from what i've heard it was B.New import for one of the big brass at the Toyota Agents at the time (Freudenberg)

OK, got something for you boys (and girls, if any)

This was one of those "What the hell is that" kinda moments. Brains trust at the scene couldn't figure it out. Lets see if you guys can.

Have to hand it to the guy. He knows how to do bling. Extra Large! Complete with pumping boom box.

No, I'm not talking about the van or the Altezza.

hmmm what was the reg. number on the car machan?

if it was a 31,32 or 10- ~ 14- , i'm thinking it'd be a VW Golf

if its newer, could it possibly be a Maruti 800

Yep,

i'm gonna bet its a golf mk1 series ... those are VW doorhandles from that time.. the type with the little button on the inside. But most of those golfs came with the front door windows split into 2 parts.. though a google search shows some with the single glass...

Peri was this a hatch? it could have even been a jetta.

hehehee....I remember the door-handle cos my dad used to have an mk1 golf, and when opening the door, people used to just pull on the entire handle out of habit, without realizing the button... I remember seeing a good number of these golfs/jettas with broken doorhandles :D
