2 or 3 of these were raced in the N'Eliya Hill Climbs in the mid 90s... the light blue one dominated the over 14 kg/hp (or was it 12-14 kg/hp... not sure about that though...)

FYI its also known as the Avto Vaz 2109 (Made in the USSR, continued production in Russia till early '00s). Also, the light blue Samara belongs to the evergreen Romani de Silva.

Oh but we do. We've got a Silver SL55 over here. If I remember correctly its got the plates "HI - 0055" (Merc Pageant '05)

SL55 is AMG. I don't think there is a non-AMG version

EDIT: 3rd pic of the white SL - the door still trim ain't AMG. I'm not sure about this, but I think stainless steel 'AMG' stills are standard in a SL55 AMG. But the stills in that R230 are different (they're neither the standard ones nor illuminated). Probably just a 350 or 500 with AMG alloys...

AFAIK , the one here is a proper SL 55 AMG

GTAm might be able to confirm and eliminate any lingering doubts

Yes, but I didn't think the one here was the AMG, thought it was a SL500 or summin. Anyone have a pic of this car? Madmax covered a Merc pageant once but I don't think its in that.

I was thinking it could be morris oxford MO but tail lights are different. Then i was searching through wolseley. but didn't come across close enough clue.

hmmm judging by the fuel filler poistion , rear light and bumper my guess is that its a Sunbeam-Talbot

Sunbeam Talbot COnvertible it is. Now been restored by one of my former colleagues.

Small history on it. There were two units bought to the country by the Police for special duties. They were originally black..

This is the only one in original condition as at now. The other was converted to kerosene and had got a 50- number later in its life and its not to be found according to him.

My friend bought it from K*ngs R*nt-a-c*r

Yes machang that was the sedan. Sheran bought his MG couple of years ago.
