  1. 100% true. its waste of time visiting other threads. i only too visiting that particular thread only..
  2. Yeah I'm going there as the same Handle..
  3. he he Ripper u got the news as well eh!.. yep the bugger seems quite reliable.. when it's come to that kinda news.. Most of the stuff he said had come true so far.. i mean from the Acquisitions for the SLAF.. I didn't notice that Indians are behind the scene this much!! did you saw the pics? http://www.lankanewspapers.com/news/2008/5/28503_space.html

    Hyundai Info

i dont know about Nissans. but my brother's using a Hyundai its very economical in fuel (it's a Manual though) but needless to say about reliability. rattling all around pretty badly. you can hear tire noise, glove compartment rattling, Noisy door panels.. etc etc.. guess this is a common problem among earlier Hyundais. for 1.5 Mil you can get a 301- Corolla 110 (Vintage Model) or Premio 1.8L for power (Year 2000 manufatcured) or else Pick a Mazda 323.
  7. Is it required to have a Heavy Vehicle Driving License to drive this Landy?
  8. So what are the reasons?
  9. Nope, i ws told tht too, but i end up of searching part numbers for the both models (Rear Drum Model, Rear Disc Model) Master pump. believe me its the same. you only need to change Soft Brake hose (Normally that came along with Rear Hub, when you purchasing Rear Disc Set), Rear Hub Set plus E-Brake Cable only. i dont think that manufacturer will change lots of parts in a famous car just for a simple swap!
  10. Thanks Ripper! Much appreciated! sounds like good time for a Vacation outside Colombo!
  11. 17 maximum outstation (but that's grandma style driving not exceeds 3000rpm) in colombo its horrible 9-10.
  12. set of mud wheels on this baby would be brilliant!!
  13. wow that's a good price indeed in these days. i bought mine for like 27 about 8 months ago and its JY plates Black one. both of the services can be done at agents. pretty much reasonable. cant remember the exact figures. fuel system cleaning is done by clean park people and in 3M as well. there's a equivalent for T-IV is available at Mobil people. its called "Mobil ATF 3309" just check on your ATF dipstick it says "TYPE T-IV"
  14. Congratilations on your buy! its very comfy car. make sure you put iridium plugs when you going to replace them. did a fuel system cleaning and tuning at agents on my car. got wonderful results. and be sure only to use T-IV fluid on tranny. if its mixed with Dexron III, Disaster!. by the way how much did u pay for it?
  15. There should be a some reason choosing Landys over Montys in United Nations. how about New Landcruiser? are they still using Ladder frame chassis over Mono chassis?
  16. As ripper says, yes Most of the time HIDs good for low beams. since HID bulb doesn't have any physical filament, it does not provide adequate focus in HI Beam mode. yes if the price and the quality is good (Ballast and Wires) there's a chance.
  17. I don't know it's a Money waste or not, but it DOES work. even the Toyota Lanka ppl use that method too.. once you done this treatment you better remove your plugs and clean them.
  18. True about Vans. we had a Town ace sometime back (CR27, Manual) used to do around 8-9Kmpl value in traffic and in long runs it does around 14Kmpl. herd that Nissan Vanette does more than that. 10-11kmpl for Nissan Sunny is a good achievement. Haven't you try to put Iridium plugs and tune it at AM*? that would give you some improvement i guess!!

    How Is Nissan Fb15

Bharath, Since your using a Nissan, Machan is there any difference between N16 and FB15 Engine? is it the same or is there any difference between them? which one is better? N16 or the FB 15.. personally i think N16 is quite bigger and spacious. Sira, Whats the price range for the car?
  20. Normally in 2003 models (With Rear Disc), its the same suspension setup in the Drum brake model. there's no difference at all. (difference will be only in Hub and the E-Brake cable) its the same with EP87 starlet. you can fix the starlet GT's rear Disc brakes to normal EP 87 As well. same goes to the EP 90 & Glanza brake Swap. have seen this done in many Carinas which they normally put Carina GTs Rear brake into normal Si, Ti my road models. no problem at all. guess its a common swap.
  21. Yeah you could Swap the rear drums with Disc brakes for a lesser price (Take a ride around Delkanda area). planing to do that in my Corolla. you need to get the Rear hub and disc along with the E-Brake cable. (note: this isn't from a Corolla) about the interior, even i prefer Nissan's interiors they look more comfier than Toyota's. specially in Bluebird Sylphy got an awesome interior.
  22. Well if your going to buy a corolla why don't u go for a Luxel grade? thats the Highest grade of the corolla Range (it's got a 1800cc Motor though). i owned one and managed to squeeze 18Kmpl from long distance driving (recently replaced all the Sensors & Tranny oil). normally it does around 11Kmpl in heavy Traffic. well talking about the trim levels, X is the Base model (u dont even get the tachometer mate!!) made for the Japanese market. then Comes The G. with all these Climate controls and other extras chrome plated mouldings etc.. last you get the Luxel, got a 1.8L engine, Gate type Shifter, Rear Folding seats, Climate control, Illuminated Dash Panel, chrome door handles plus rear garnish and some of them comes with pearl Paint. u get other models like XLI made in Japan but made for the Singapore market. in this model u get all the features in X but with added features like leather seats etc.. this is bit cheaper in the market and most of them comes with 1300cc engines which is bit underpowered.
  23. You could go for a Starlet with English plates.. it'll cover up your all of the points above.. but that's only if you like Hatch backs.
  24. why cant our guys do some research regarding Ethanol Fuel. its good move i guess. on some Sunday newspaper saw some article regarding that.
  25. Well the All new 3ZZ-FE engine is VVTL-i engine that means it should do better than 1500cc version. lets wait and see. it's still early to comment i suppose. apparantly we are getting the US version of corolla with smaller engine. (US version is powered by more powerful 1800c motor) guess there might be power to weight ratio problem as well. but I'm not sure. lets give it some time and see.
