the explanation given by the agent is, the one which has been put is for ES 8 and my one is domestic version and the disc material is different and gives a hum. But i totally disagree with the statement because all the discs are same whether it is es1, es5 or es8. And last they said es1 original pads are available and cost is 19000 Rs. I didn't want to spend that much and went to malabe upul's place. Still I am using upul's pads (Japaneese) with out any problem.

I also had the same problem in my ES 1 civic. I change the pads from the agent but it gave some noises when brake applies. When I changed the pads it dissapeared. That is merely due to inferior quality of the pads. I changed the pads from honda upul at malabe at the cost of 3750 Rs. Initially I spent 12000 Rs for pads at the agent .

Thanks Tikiri and GMI for valuable inputs. As Tikiri told , Our mechanic has done some adjustments and now it seems to be ok for the time being.I think I could run for another year or two as it is. Thank you again.

I noticed yesterday my wife's Starlet EP91's Auto gear box does not change 2nd to 3rd as rpm goes up. When I checked with a Machanic(well experienced and worked at Topyota Lanka some time back) said that it could be adjusted and still i don't have to attend on gear box. Any idea what sort of adjustment he is talking about and if I need to attend, Is it better to buy a gear box or repair ? Please share your knowledge.

yes I also had the experience after couple of drinks. I have been given three chances by god. I just managed to escape after putting all the influnces and realised not to drink and drive. At last it is a social responsibility. Now I never drink and drive. If I don't have driver , Most of the time I take taxis for parties other wise my dear wife helps me

Yes Ford Festiva is nice looking hatch back. It will suit to your budjet as well. I saw one in Auto Lanka clasified.

Our company had four 2 WD and one 4 Wd ISUZU cabs (YOPM 1996) and they worked like horses and carried goods like donkys for years and sold four out of five very recently with out doing any major repairs. Persanolly I felt bit comfortable when you compare with Toyota and Mitsubishi cabs. 4 WD one is still working in good order. I think ISUZU is one of reliable cabs in here.

According to Honda news letters LEV has got AMT not CVT.

LEV= Low emmision vehicle Vi= 3 stage v-tec engine mostly comming with multimatic gear box. Market price is little heigher for Vi version. Both are good in fuel.

Low(L)- To shift to Law, press the release button on the front of the shift lever, Use L to get more power when climbing, and for max. engine braking when going down steep hills. **For faster acceleration when in D,S or L, the transmission will automatically "Kick down" to a lower range of ratios by pushing the accelerator pedal to the floor**

Normally ES5 (Used cars from singapore) is comming with CVT gear box. ES8 is brand new version and mostly with ATM. In hondas "D" mode is you are with OD . Noramal ATM gear box D3 is with out OD. I think CVT gear box "S" mode is with out OD, You can put S mode from D mode while you are driving. You never shift to N position while the car is moving because you loose the brake efficency since the RPM is going down.

This seems to be a common problem with ignition system or fuel system. Better you go to the agent no other place. These types of repairs are not costly. meet Mr Lal Ganegoda or Mr Guruge. Rgds,

What ever said and done The so called NANO SAVER did not make any change of my car(Civic) fuel consumption. Still it is fixed and will be removed soon.

Is the gear box CVT or AMT ? If it is CVt, Used gear box will be cost around 75000 Rs. Check at US spare parts at Hill street Dehiwala.

My 2004 ES1 is doing 9.5 km/l-10.5 km/l in colombo.I am driving at modarate traffic in morning and evening.

You have to do a fiber glass job on rear fender and cost you about 3000Rs (Including repairs of bumper clips) and another 7000 Rs for painting. If only the painting is required on front fender, It cost you 7000 Rs. + Price of the side lamp. Total cost= 3000 + 7000 + 7000 + Lamp

You never know how the previous owner has maintained the gear box therefore it is advisable to go for a automatic or manual gear box rather than going for a CVT one. Just a idea bro.

Yes bro it is normal. When you steer, the ECU gets engine to rew up slightly if the power system is hydrolic.

Mate go for a manual HRV. Automatic gear box some time gives problem of HRV. Definetly you will enjoy driving also economical. Suzuki is very bad on fuel other wise it is a good suv.
