Everyone was aware that a famous brothel existed in the building of a famous shopping mall in colombo. and many people thought it was 100% safe because it has existed for so many years. until one fine day......

What normally happens is you get a signed affidavit from the seller of the permit thru a lawyer. Since the seller runs the risk of losing his job if there's an inquiry, generally they dont create a fuss. But the risk will always be there. Even if the seller doesnt claim the vehicle, if someone who doesnt like the seller tips off the relevant department, there is a risk that the vehicle may get impounded if an inquiry happens. Having said all this, I must also add that these rarely happen. But you must make decisions after being aware of the risks. No company leases permit cars to third parties. Not even the famous loan sharks. U need to try for a personal loan.

If its a good product, what is it doing in the hands of this monkey? If he introduced the product directly instead of calling it a mystery product and talking about developing the country and thus sounding like he's selling a cheap chinese knock-off of viagra, he would have got the publicity he Wanted.

How To Find True Market Value Of A Used Car In Sri Lanka
Crosswind replied to Uditha88's topic in General Automotive
What a stupid idea. The whole concept of 'market price' is created by car sellers to jack up their profits. Like peri said, in reality the price oc an individual car is what the buyer and seller agrees upon. If u really want to get the so-called 'market value', get a valuation from de silva or a similar valuer. That's the closest u can get to it. Even that is not accurate. -
TATA and FIAT claim their cars are the most fuel efficient (TATA Indigo Manza and Fiat Linea) Both are made in India. Personally I wouldn't be caught dead in either of these, but if your requirement is ONLY fuel efficiency, do look them up.

How Frequently Do Have To Check The Wheel Alignment ?
Crosswind replied to ColomboRox's topic in General Automotive
You should check wheel alignment because: 1. It will reduce uneven tire wear 2. It will improve handling It MAY save you a little bit of fuel. But disciplined driving will save you more. -
Right! and you don't need to change the instrument cluster, wire harness and the ECU?

Best Hatchback Around 1.8M Except Maruti
Crosswind replied to amilaart's question in Car Buying Information
what u need is a car with good ground clearance, hence my recommendation for the swift. Swift is pretty good at handling and definitely better than indian cars but wont be as good as the average japanese sedan. If u try hard, u can find one for your budget. -
Best Hatchback Around 1.8M Except Maruti
Crosswind replied to amilaart's question in Car Buying Information
I would recommend a Suzuki Swift/Ignis or Chevrolet Cruze, if you need good ground clearance. These cars have flimsy suspensions so you may want to look for one that is in really good condition or one that has its suspension repaired (with records). http://www.autolanka...ad.asp?ID=80188 http://www.autolanka...ad.asp?ID=80841 http://www.autolanka...ad.asp?ID=71121 http://www.autolanka...ad.asp?ID=77918 -
New Sri Lankan Car Manufacturer - 'elca Cars'
Crosswind replied to Californikan's topic in News & Updates
The scammers alone are not to blame. Larger share of the blame must go to TV stations and newspapers that readily believe in anything they see, without any analysis whatsoever. Once these scammers go on TV and papers, the general public start believing them. People like that stupid idiot Nalaka Gunawardene must be tortured and killed for glorifying scammers. They should share the blame for creating Sobithas, budu puthas and water-car inventors and the like. -
I saw a boot lid in a body parts yard in wattala, very close to toyota showroom on opposite side of the roa. Also theres an ad for some parts including tail light lenses in suntel wow classified site. Also try the breaker joints in watte and delkanda. Sourcing mini parts r easier than u think

New Sri Lankan Car Manufacturer - 'elca Cars'

Not another one! As long as there are fools like cali in this world, there will always be scammers I guess... -
what exactly is the error? I have a funny feeling that your mech is a makabaas who only knows how to replace things. Search the forum for auto tranny repair. There are few ppl in the country who r good at repairing auto trannies

It appears that you got a hairline crack and a piece has chipped off the bumper. Right now, the best thing you can do is to let it be. You will be able to touch it up with a bit of paint but is it really necessary?

Computers are generally expensive in Aus. However, you can decide for yourself by going thru some of the computer sellers' websites. Price lists/catalogues are available online www.msy.com.au (cheapest I have come across) www.techbuy.com.au www.dicksmith.com.au www.harveynorman.com.au

The whole point of this thread is 67dodge is trying to be the next californikan. @67dodge - dude, I really dont want to type pages and pages about why it doesn't work. Let me simply say that 1. petrol is a volatile substance and heating it can only make it more dangerous than it is 2. none of these stupid proponents of the magic carb (or whatever it is called), consider the energy wastage for heating fuel. The heat source also need to come from the engine after all, and it is definitely higher than the normal engine heat 3. We are living in 2012, where safety and efficiency as well as speeds of vehicles have moved a long way since 1930s. Taking knock-suppressants off fuel and building engines that run on such fuel will just make them explode before even finishing the first gallon of fuel. 4. Most of the members in this group have been with cars long enough to see water powered cars, cow dung powered cars, urine powered cars, cars that do 200km/l, garandiya-powered BMWs and so on... they are called SCAMs. SCAMMERS thrive by creating videos or webpages or getting headlines in newspapers. So... before you become a certified lunatic like californikan.... please drop it.

The nice gentleman says u can transfer the vehicle in 2 years and 9 months (three months prior to completing ownership years) The Certificate of registration, in its computer printed letters says "Ownership cannot be transferred for 3 years from the date of first registration". Now which one would you believe?
