  1. I'm going to buy a VW Beetle I know that there is a lot of euro fans here and specially VW owners. Please tell me what to check before my purchase. I'm new to euro's yet.
  2. Buying a VW Beetle What Should I know about it. I went shoping for a new car for my mom, What she wanted was a vitz yet as my name suggests I told her to go for a demiio or fit, Luckyly the car sale we went to had a VW beetle and I managed to convince her to go for one. So we went bug hunting, Inspected some cars on the market yet 2 of them had very lose body panels (like the build quality seemed a little poor)
  3. I've heard that there are specialized maintainance procedures for diesel vehicles other than the regular services. Yet i don't know much about when to do them. I hope the knowledgeable people in the forum would help me with this. I use a diesel 2.5L turbo mitsubishi and would like to know, -When tappet adjusting is required. -When injector cleaning is required. -When is injector presserising is required. -When is the replacement of injectors required. -When an engine overhaul should be done. -And other procedures that should be done in a diesel vehicle other than the services. Please mention the millage-intervals these should be done and how much they would cost(roughly). I know some procedures depend on the driving style and the vehicle, just tell when it should be done in as an average.
  4. You can't judge a book by it's cover nor a car by it's odometer. So the buyer should be concern about the condition than the millage. But now as the millage is entered emission test (which every vehicle has to face) it's records could be followed when there is no maintainance records.
  5. Yep it is always good to service in a good place. Yet the best thing is to do it under you'r inspection (in the companies u can't) because the above mentioned species (retarded monkey) can also be found at the agent (personal experiance - the toyota service guys forgot to properly clamp a intercooler horse in one of my friends prados)
  6. Next time i see one i'm doing the same so prius owners u won't save enough by using natural air condition to do an interor cleaning
  7. The cr*p diesel starlet (i used to call it toilet) was also a 1,5l diesel Yet what a hit was it in the idiotic sri lanken 2nd hand market And as the new hyundai diesel engines are so much economical and refined it might as well be a car of choice in sri lanka at this price
  8. The recommended life of a tier is 6yrs, so it is better to buy from a new stock if using for a while. I think the cheepest jap tier (SUV)is falken and i've used it simillar performance as the geolander (yokohama) probably better than the bridgeston-dueler
  9. Forums are also filled with idiots(eg-me)
  10. If the shogun is not a type of a gun(eg-ak47, t-56) The info u need is there in how to import a vehicle(eg-montero pajero ect..) topics.
  11. Is it about me Oh! thank u for saying some thing positive about me
  12. Yet the CVT feels like a worn out cluch and it is slower than a manual
  13. The trees find their energy from co2 (like petrol for cars) So the best tree huggers are diesel powered old vehicles Here is a prius tree hugger for the others
  14. Think of a foot cyclist overtaking a prius and looking into his economy meter (in the bicycle) showing 35km per fish bun
  15. Yep it is fun to race with people tryng to overtake u but it has pretty bad consequences. Once my mom did that to a motorcyclist who got hit by oncoming traffic (car). Miraculously he did not die but the accident could have been fatal. The danger is enhanced in auto and even more in hybrid vehicles as computers controll what we r trying to do.
  16. I think u'r figures are mm/l(millimeters per liter) rather than km/l
  17. Now here is a thing we can all agree on Well personally i wish the final would be aus vs sl but now it couldn't happen
  18. I use a diesel one good solid vehicle goes on and on forever. Comfortability is good compared to an x-trail I've owned (sometimes the petrol one with harder leather seats can be less comfy) Performance definitely not the best for it's engine size yet due to tried and tested(old) technology can be easily maintained in any local garage. Does the miles even without you knowing it. No faults for me in 3 and half years yet. Regardless of size pretty easy to drive. Very good offloading capabilities.
  19. Not bad cars for boring use if sold in the 2 million range (nzt 260) Yet it is overvalued so useless
  20. Next earthquake in TOYOTA CITY PLEASE. So the victims are deprived from thier vital needs, Toyotas Vitz for breakfast, Axioes for lunch and a Crown for dinner
  21. 1.The thugs 2.The finance company 3.the previous owner Must have spare keys, The previous owner might be having ideas to re-repossess the vehicle, U could be in for a major case of Grand Theft Auto So if the price is not tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tempting Go for a normally used vehicle
  22. Can u tell me the place where u found 1 for 20k please. I'm also looking for one with a very tight budget, My name says that i don't need that logo anyway dosen't it
  23. Just try to buy a vehicle from someone who u can trust, and u can calculate the annual mileage from the owners home place of work, number of children, how many vehicles he has ect.... some times the condition only can't tell the millage, car sales bring down vehicles having 100k+ on the odo change it to 8k paint polish detail it to look better than a genuine 20k brand new bought car and sell it for more.
  24. It is to show that the key (smart) is inside the vehicle, it is normal and is to prevent the morons locking their keys inside their cars, Yet if the yellow light is on while started or trying to start it is a problem with the key, which u'll have the liberty if seeing in the near future
