nano31 replied to nish1's topic in General Automotive
Thanks a lot for a practical answer!I hope a few of so called senior members should learn how to answer for a question rather than going behind a word or not making fun from a junior member's simple question!! -
Car Front Door Glass Beading/sealer - Where Can Find Used/new ?
nano31 replied to nish1's topic in General Automotive
I am quite new for ebay, I checked few minor parts like power mirror switches, dimmer switch, etc but it seems more or less similar or higher comp to local used/new parts. Is there any specific way of searching ebay for spares? -
Car Front Door Glass Beading/sealer - Where Can Find Used/new ?
nano31 replied to nish1's topic in General Automotive
Actually it should be corrected as genuine/oem toyota parts. For major mechanical parts like spares for engine/suspension we could find but some small parts like windshield rubber/weather strips are mostly imported by the agents only. I hope my question is clear now -

I hope someone would let us know agents/person who imports Toyota parts other than Toyota Lanka -
Dont think rebuilding would take months!!! For my CE110 it took only 7 hours and I was by the side as well they changed all plate like things, shift vale, manual valve, rubber o rings and few more as well
-
My feeling is it is due to the aging of the gear box causing internal pressure leaking the most probable cause is hardened internal rubber o rings. But since this is sudden after the service you should always check the kick down cable as well. One of my friend has had not changing gears beyond the 2nd after the injector pump service but it was faulty modulator and nothing to do with the injector pump!

I got my CE110 (Diesel) Autobox rebuild ~Rs25000/= while used autobox is around Rs55000 (Not to confuse with AE110 for which it is around 25000). In your case rebuilding and used box is more or less the same cost but we do not know what is inside the used box!

The rotors of my CE110 were worn out and brake pads were start to fell off after 10000~12000 km! I replaced both with used rotors but with very good thickness and they had original pads as well! You can buy original rotors for CE110 Rs 20,000/= X 2!!!!!!!

What I feel is there is nothing called good or bad car all are subjective. definitely corolla is not the best car (we still own three corolla). It is just corolla/Toyota fulfill the requirement of the most people, most of the requirement are fuel economy, ample spares, resalle value, etc I too really like euros like Peugeot, BMW and Benz and love to inspire them but bit reluctant to own. In my case I live 180 km away from Colombo and there is almost no place to buy spares for euros but this is different at Colombo or major cities. So it is not nice to called "Toyota/Nissan" mentality we know those euros are far ahead from jap when comes handling, quality interior, options and probably the looks.

There are thin metal sheets lying beneath the brake pads. Just check if they have fallen off.

It may be harder to find a 121 for 2.5m. They are 2.7~2.9M minimum. With your budget I would suggest new shell FB15 If a 121 going for 2.5m there must be some problems with it.

Do not get done any repair to the side walls, failing is guaranteed
-
Try to buy a face lifted (late 1997 or later) AE 110,XE saloon limited or SE saloon limited or higher. Automatic model hold a better market value, usually face lifted model Rs 2 million+ Issues with auto box after ~14 years should not be considered as a manufacture fault anyway used auto box are freely available yet I prefer get it repaired

Hard Starting Diesel Engine When Engine Is Hot
nano31 replied to nano31's topic in General Automotive
I too have heard about the under compression and difficult warm start from local mechanics but no one knows how to explain it in fact the difficult cold starting can be explained by under compression. My engine is clocked 171k and very slight engine oil reduction can be noticed in every 3000 km so I agree that the engine is somewhat warn but it can still be started without any pre heating in the morning in 2~3sec but with heating once it starts in a moment. I do not believe this difficult warm start is due to the under compression because this problem happens intermittently. -

Hard Starting Diesel Engine When Engine Is Hot
nano31 replied to nano31's topic in General Automotive
Luckily I got another two CE110s with my family. I observed following, 1.When I switch on the ignition switch the glow bulb on for few second (5~10sec) and turned off and if I keep another few seconds I can hear "tuck" sound probably glow plug relay turning off at that point engine can be started less than one second. 2.Do glow plugs keep heating even AFTER the glow light turning off? 3.When I disconnect "a sensor wire" which is situated in engine side wall ( injector pump side) the glow bulb turn on prolong time and I can here the relay turning off sound when the light turning off but even the engine is warm up the glow light keep on as if the engine is cold 4. My conclusion is when the engine is cold the glow plug turned on for bit long. When the engine is warm glow light quickly turning off but the glow is still working which is probably malfunctioning in my glow relay unit; this is because engine starting normally when that sensor wire is disconnected 5. I could not hear two click sounds in my engine when it is warm but in the other two engines which are more or less similar km on the clock Could any one explain about these glow system in 2C diesel? -
My Toyota 2C Diesel is having intermittent episodes of difficult starting when it is warm. It starts fine when it is cold. It has clocked 170k and not burning engine oil. It has slight fume from the dip stick but never oil. My battery is very new it is all right. My car is ce110 diesel 1998YOM, Automatic

Cr27 Difficult Start In The Morning After Injector Nozzle Replacement
nano31 replied to nano31's topic in General Automotive
Thanks every one for help! I my self replaced the "filter head pump unit" (It is a Korean made one, do not know about the quality) and the problem was solved. Planning to buy used Japanese one leisurely. -
My CE110 Auto, YOM1997 late is doing 18kmpl in long run with ac on. I usually very light on the accelerator and avg speed is 60~70kmph and it had no hill assent or traffic. In extreme city driving it does 8~10kmpl. On average it does 10~13kmpl!

Mr. Dhanushka Gunasinghe had posted two threads one is for autobox and other is for front hub noise and seems he updated a wrong thread

Cr27 Difficult Start In The Morning After Injector Nozzle Replacement
nano31 replied to nano31's topic in General Automotive
I fixed a transparent tube for a filter line but I could not see any air bubbles even after 10hrs! But as I said earlier when I did press manual pump, engine start even without any pre heating! -
My cr27 was making lot of black smoke. I got the injector nozzle checked and they almost burnt out and replaced the all four with denso. Engine was fully repaired one and after the repair it had done 100k. Even with the previous black smoke it can be started without any preheating. After the nozzle replacement I noticed a diesel leak and the pre chamber washers were in bad shape causing diesel leak and replaced them as well. It is stll difficult to start after 8~10hrs of engine stop (over night). The battery is very good and I had to crank the engine ~20sec X 4 times, at the last time, engine was coughing out and finally starting once the engine was started it is ok unless it is quit for 8~10hrs. If I press the pump (in the diesel filter) till it get tight, engine starting is completely ok!
