hello guys,

just want to get quick clarification from you'll. i want to buy a sport steering wheel for my car. what is the best place to look for a good wheel. and is it possible to install sport type wheel (small) for manual steering model. bcoz i heard installing a sport type steering can course unethical problems for manual models. whats your experience on this regard?

If by manual steering you mean non-power-steering, most people would advertise against it because it makes it quite hard if not impossible to steer when the car is not moving or moving at snail-pace.

Sorry, I didnt quite follow what you meant by 'unethical problems'.

unethical problem means the steering will not last for long since itz non-power-steering model. some of the people who are in the market says if i do so it will cracked due to the heavy usage specially bcoz of non-power-steering. i don't know that part is true. i need your experience on this matter

do you have any trusted place on darly road. and also any good brand you can suggest

Bro, All most all the wheels in Darley road are replicas ranging from 4k-7k. A good original one like momo or Sparco will cost about 30k :). If you are after originals search for used one's. Also make sure you get the correct boss kit :)

The ones available at Darley road are mostly fakes and knock offs,So the brand really doesn't matter. But they should be adequate for normal driving.

If you want an original wheel,it's best to get one down. The Momo I got cost 21k three years ago

Mate if your car is not power assisted, you will have no handling comfort when opt for a sports steering. You need strong arms due reduced steering wheel diameter.

As you suspect, if you go for a low quality one, surely the life will be over than usual due heavy load inputs.

You will have to go for a good quality boss kit to prevent load damages.

if i were you, i would stick with the standard steering wheel without ending up in a hospital for a problem with my arms

guys really thanks for you'll inputs. seems like i need to spend too much for a branded wheel. need to find a recon momo wheel from the market. if not will stick to the old one.. he he. :P. i just want to modify my car little bit. that's why i was so keen on these stuffs.

hello watchman itz a starlet old model. do u have any ideas on this

Well, since its a pretty light car, it shouldnt be as bad as would be for a heavier car.

So its upto you: You can have less tighter steering OR a nicer looking steering. But as the other say if a good sports steering costs THAT much it really isnt worth it. And if you're going for a non-original, the chances are it wont have the build-quality and looks of a original; hence you'll end up with a crappy looking interior. And if the build quality is bad, and extra force you have to keep exerting might mean it might not even last as long.

But hey, its all personal preference. :)

I do agree slightly with the point brought up – If you don’t have power steering . Trust me it’s going to be hard, I learned to drive in a non power steering FORD Escort with Balloon tires (My fathers car) no cracking issue for the 6 years we had it. Had a Raid branded Steering (Italian)

No trusted place as such but you could try Motor cade, also try Delkanda spare part shops cause you get really good stuff for a decent price.

totally agree with your point. today i went to a place at darly road. they got a good steering wheel. seems like it's heavy enough to handle a manual steering car.. will upload a picture of that one soon.
