YES ! It is an EVA ME-22. Over to you !

Yes..the yellow one has been making its rounds on SL socials. It is quite disheartening to see how people are bashing that car without knowing what it it. Most seem to think that someone took a Miata and ruined it with some weird kit....well..it is...sort of.
Eva motors bought base cars from Mazda (the NA roadster) and did up the entire car. The modern-day equivalent to a company doing that would be Mitsuoka with their Rock Star. Although there were no significant performance improvements, they did make cooling enhancements, and depending on the configuration, offered suspension upgrades. Now of course, if you had an actual Mazda Roadster at the time, you could send it to Eva Motors and they would do the same for your car. Apparently, not many were done up like this, therefore, almost all of these cars have been registered under the manufacturer's name Eva and not Mazda.

These things are quite rare and sell for a lot more than the standard NA Roadster/Miata/MX-5.

This particular one apparently came with the Ferrari badges even from Japan. Some Japanese dude was probably living out his Ferrari (Dino ?) fantasies.

I'm curious what it's registered as in Sri Lanka - I tried to run the plates in the DMT website but the service is down 90% of the time. If it did arrive as an Eva - that would have resulted in a confused individual at DMT sitting in his wood-and rattan chair. Remember this was the mid 90's when  Opels, Kias and Daewoos were registered as made in Japan. So they at least probably go the country of origin right in the book.

Oh may be after spotting the horse badge, DMT might have thought that the car is from the Morris family, the famous Morris bull cross with a Phoney or got modernised, so the Country of origin might say UK 😁
