Indika is the man for Alfas. For you budget you can get a nice 155. or if you wanna push it up by around 4ook, I know of a excellent 164 ... ;)

Its true about the Alfa Bug through...

I had a 86 Accord and loved it to bits. 1.6 litre 12 valve engine. Parts were available at Tech Motors at the time. (2001-2004) Not sure now. SOld it for 200K in 2004... :)

Why go for a boring Trad? or A 323? Go for something out of the box.

Yeah I don't mind going for something different, still just weighing my options. How difficult is it to source body parts for Alfas machan? And any idea on how the 89 Accord is?

So guys, I have a budget of one mil now. My current options are;

90's Honda Accord

Primera P10

Presea R10

Somewhat apprehensive about the Alfa 155 or the BMW E30 but am still rather interested in them. You guys got any more suggestions?

Presea R10....yuck!

Primera P10.....ok, but doesn't look like a primera IMO

90s accord ....i think is a winner

If you've got a budget of 1 mill, are you sure you have the extra cash to pour into the euro's if needed?

Ok so I was gonna say that I'm considering the Presea simply for the 2.0l engine but then on second thoughts, you're right. I can't see myself driving one. No Presea. :)

Well, I'll have some money left. But not a lot. Why, is repairing an old Euro that expensive?

Really? For a mil? When MasterDon mentioned it, I thought they might be over that. Well, time for some more reading then! :)

Well the D9 is definitely over the budget, but a good D8 could be procured for your budget quite easily. The hard part would be to find one!

Guys, what are your thoughts on going for an old Starlet GT? Since it's got a turbocharged engine that's about 20 years old, will it be a mechanical nightmare and need constant repairs? Or worse, will it pack up any time soon?

Plus, the owner says the piston rings need replacing, and a mechanic I go to says it's a big job and it'll cost about 100k. Could you shed any light on this?

IF you are considering diesels, you might be able to get a Corona CT141 (93/94 YOM). Boxy like the trad, tough and bullet proof car... No power steering though

You can find one or two here and there. :)

A friend of mine did an 4e-fte bottom end rebuild 2 months back, replaced rings etc, he said it costed 30-40k for the whole job (minus forged pistons). Maybe you should try few more mechanics ;)
