Classic Cars To Pannala

Recommended Posts

there was one of these being restored in a garage in wattala. oddly enough, the garage was named "auto lanka" :)

i put up a pic here of the car few years back. at the time it was red and needed fair bit of work. certain body panels were being made there...

would be interesting to see if it was the same car.

If it's the same they have done an awesome restoration... Paint needed a good polish though, not as shiny as MDs pic. Porabably since it had been under the cover for so long...

Edit: Snapped a pic on the way back...

Yes MD, looked exactly like this. . It was without the wheel cups though. 1 SRI XXXX

Now seeing the two side by side, its cliar that i have made a bit of a hash of it :pardon:

This car and what you posted has a few significant differences starting from interior, rear quarter panels and front

I'm inclined to believe you saw the very car Ripper photographed in the other thread.

Edit: And what, RHD? Conversion or factory?

It could be a Ferrari cos its red

or it could be a Lamborghini because its flat...

or it could be the knight-rider cos the lights are folded in..

or it could be a lotus because it has a lotus badge on it

I've seen the silver one a few years back, it had a hideous set of wheels which were NOT anything Lotus would use; they were chrome and possibly had curved spokes similar to the "turbine" look. The image is stuck in my mind 'cos all I could think was HOW could someone do that to a Lotus.
