Remove the Headlight Assembly from your Car

_DSC8150.jpg_DSC8159.jpg

Remove any bulbs Hid kits etc and Remove any screw that’s holding the headlight together

_DSC8152.jpg_DSC8151.jpg

Pre heat your oven to 200 F

Place the headlight in the oven for 5minutes (keeping over this time will melt your headlight)

_DSC8160.jpg

Pry the lens from the assembly

If it hardens re-heat again and start prying becareful be patient and don’t rush it.

When you take off the clear lens DO-NOT touch it or let any dust get in to it. Lenses come with uv coated inside.

_DSC8155.jpg

Get the inner shell out start painting with a good plastic paint

_DSC8161.jpg

Put everything back together reheat the assembly and it will seal itself. Put some silicone to assure a proper seal

thanks guys for your responses.

@ Jami i have done few headlights and so far5mins @ 200F been perfect. more than 200 or longer time definitly would mess up the headlight.

Its a bit dangerous to put your lights in the oven, rather invest in a Hot gun so only the seal is heated and not anything else. And if you cant buy that then its gonna have to be your Mum's/Wife's hair dryer! Also make sure you use Silicone sealant when your done with it other wise you end up with water ingress! Warning, some lights cannot be dissembled like this!!

Water wouldn't leak into the lights if you're careful. Besides, you can seal the gap between the lens and the housing with some silicone if you really want to make sure.

Excellent results. Those lights look awesome now.

I've seen a few tutorials on similar mods. If the silica hardens before you totally remove the lens, you can use a heat gun without having to stick it back in the oven. That's what I've seen at least :)
