Old Cars In Highway

My Maruti Omni on the odometer has maximum speed 120 KMPH. I have done number of times 100KMPH on S/Hi way. Tried once maximum I got was 115KMPH.With 4 people in the vehicle.

IIRC maruti 800 produces around 37bhp and 1300CC VW engine produces around 40bhp correct me if i'm wrong fellas.

btw, chery qq produce around 38bhp, so maruti should be same.

Drove my Lancer A72 on the expressway from Kottawa to Dodangoda and back a couple of times. Stuck to the speed limit most of the time but put my foot down a just once to see how far I can push it and it touched 150 km/h.

The ride was fairly OK because the drive was after overhauling the engine and most steering and suspension components were new. This car has a 4 speed gearbox and the engine revs high when it catches speed.

For the 4G33 engine which is 1439cc, it's 92hp @ 6300rpm as I remember.

The maruti 800 produces 37 bhp @ 5000rpm. It uses a camshaft different to that of the Omni. Therefore more bhp lesser torque

Maximum power (Kw/rpm) - 38/6000 (not bhp) Therefore bhp should be ~ 51..
