Engine Oil In Suzuki Swift Japan Model

i used castrol magnatec 10W/40 engine oil to my suzuki swift 2008 japan model. is this engine oil good? i did my service in Pits*op.

I don't think it is a big issue.

Your engine will perform best if 10W/30 5W/30 is used, this is what they recommend for Suzuki K12B engine.

I use Toyota 10W/30 and found that the oil degraded by 5000 km or so, planning to chanege in to Shell Helix which was the oil used previously in the car according to the service stikers found in the car.

I use Mobil XHP/1000 with the Cruze. No issues.

before they have been used shell helix 20w 50 in swift is this good?

shell Helix is good. I myself is using Shell Helix Ultra in my Suzuki Swift 2009 model. Engine runs very smoothly.

Btw, this is a synthetic oil.

for the RS turbo it’s 5w 30. 

 

32 recommended but I pump 30. Sri Lankan roads better to have the pressure a bit low. The swift is anyway a bit bumpy on Colombo roads so keep it a bit less

None of us can actually give you an answer. It totally depends on the condition of your engine and from there how and where you use the car. If the engine is generally worn out (irrespective of mileage) you might have to use a heavier oil as temporary measure. Similarly if you do long distance running on a regular basis or drive the car in areas of excessive heat for long period of time or the car under goes a whole lot of other heavy use scenarios, then again you may have to use a heavier oil.
