0 Komisiripala
if you consider this to be privileged information coming from a top secret source, who probably exchanged this for a top secret favour in return, then i have bad bad news for you
0 NPP
i don't think one needs news for this. Surely not all sellers get their asked prices when selling these days. Such higher prices in the 2nd hand market is going to create lower demand and soon prices will gradually come down slightly, if not already
0 miniace
Reality is that unfortunately all sellers dreams of selling used cars at high prices aren't working. If you noticed the second hand vehicle asking tags went rocket high immediately after the tax increase. Most of those vehicles are re-advertised at a relatively lower price but still higher than the pre-tax hike tags. Surely will remain like that.No logic behind the 'prices going down' thing. MINIACE

MINIACE ya, that's true. once the demand comes down, the prices would also be coming down, but i don't expect that to be huge sums, couple of ten thousands, may be at the same time the agents of KIA, VIVA and other vehicles will see a dip in their performance and will be compelled to cut down their margins and lay-off some dump ass sales agents. if that happens, it will be a real good news. Yes , true Machan. In my life , I have seen only two things easily possible with prices going down in Sri Lanka. Those are Computers and Mobile phones. Regarding vehicle prices, they are depending on "up - down -up - down - up" by controlling import tax by the government time to time as they wish. Have to wait another 3 - 4 years for vehicle price dropping.
0 Blitz
Machan even tho the tax goes down, our currency keep on depreciating, (which is true & over gvt struggling soo hard to control & which we cannot @ the moment ) so our sales people use this as an excuse to keep the car values high,
0 Blitz
Soo in another 4-7 years our people can buy a second hand Prius (2nd gen) for about 55-60 laks..
