Question

Posted

Hi all,

Im looking for my first ( also our family) car, and looking some car around 1.8 m,

My mom doesnt like Maruti.

As we are in hill-country, im looking for car that can easily drive through that tough roads.

So I think hatchback is better rather than Sedan for avoid collisions with wavy road.

Pls dear expert give the suggestion to select car.

thank you

regards

Amila

I would recommend a Suzuki Swift/Ignis or Chevrolet Cruze, if you need good ground clearance.

These cars have flimsy suspensions so you may want to look for one that is in really good condition or one that has its suspension repaired (with records).

not necessarily.....but your mom may find it easy to reverse...... i guess even the maruti has become somewhat popular among ladies due to that reason

Dear Crosswind,

Thank you for the comment,

Do you think that hatchback is more easy in handling rather than sedan, in above conditions?

Nissan march AK12 (2002)

Toyota vitz(old),

Suzuki Swift

Honda Fit(old),

But if been easy to drive is you'r top priority chose the Nissan March It is easy as a toy.

Very easy to maintain, Less and cheaper repairs,

But does a little bit less on fuel than it's competitors.

It is hard to buy above-mentioned cars around 1.8 million. Go for a starlet or March K11

what u need is a car with good ground clearance, hence my recommendation for the swift.

Swift is pretty good at handling and definitely better than indian cars but wont be as good as the average japanese sedan.

If u try hard, u can find one for your budget.

can we consider a mini as an alternative......

Could go for an excellent condition mini for this price,

But the go-cart handling is not what a mom would expext as easy to drive.

Also could consider 307s and there was a Renault magane advertised recently for that money

Why do you think that you will end up in a collision if you drive a sedan?

A nice 206 should do the trick. Just avoid the automatics if possible, if you do get an automatic, change the ATF

I also like the 206, but my pocket not that much rich for pump petrol to 206.

:-)

Definitely a startlet. Very economical and reliable.

Yes, i am also thinking about starlet,

dear Nzer, do you have a idea of fuel efficiency of starlet?

and hope it has some second hand value.

Dear Magnum,

mainly my home situated just aside the road. and road to the home has small bridge. This bridge also angle to according to road angle. it has around 30 degree angle, so i doubt to get some car , that can not enter in to the home.

Do you think that sedan can win this .

Proton Gen2. Has the biggest engine of the lot, and according to pericles its got quite a bit of grunt. Also it falls well within your price range.

Of course it has good second hand value. don't know the fuel figures exactly but it is well known for its fuel economy
