Edited: My bad, I mixed up the Wira and the Waja... Mitsubishi engine bits should be no problem but things like suspension parts etc might be a bit hard to come by even in colombo Fuel consumption will depend on engine size and transmission, let's just say it will not be as economical as a Corolla. I think you're referring to the Proton Wira machang. The Waja looks nothing like the Lancer. It just has a Mitsubishi 4G18 (1.6L SOHC EFI) engine - the same engine used in the 2001 - 2008 Lancer CS3. It's a reliable engine with little maintenance required. Edited December 14, 2012 by Supra_Natural
Crosswind
I owned a Proton Impian in the past, It's the European export version of Waja. It's probably the most comfortable car I have owned. It's built on the same platform as Volvo S40. YOM 2000 Waja has the 4G18 engine and the one I owned (YoM 2007) had the Campro engine 1.spare parts availability - No issue with engine spares for 4G18. Campro engine spares are relatively rare. Body parts are available in one or two shops in Delkanda 2.maintanance - Engine maintenance is not difficult. Suspension may give trouble if you use it roughly. 3.resale value - Get it for below 1 million if you can. Then you don't need to worry about resale 4.fuel consumption - Expect around 8km/litre.
