iRage
The 2nd gen was manufactured till end of 2011 with an overlapping sales period with the 3rd gen but I thought the 2nd gen units sold during the period of overlap were mainly commercial/fleet sales (mainly rental and taxi units). If you go to http://www.toyota-global.com/company/history_of_toyota/75years/vehicle_lineage/family_tree/index.html You will see that the life-span for the 2nd gen goes from 2003 till 2011. Japanese wikipedia suggests something similar: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%88%E3%83%A8%E3%82%BF%E3%83%BB%E3%83%97%E3%83%AA%E3%82%A6%E3%82%B9#2.E4.BB.A3.E7.9B.AE_NHW20.EF.BC.882003.E5.B9.B4_-2011.E5.B9.B4.EF.BC.89 Sorry for going OT but according to Toyota's definition "Prius" is Latin for "prior" or "previous." Thats correct. The 2nd gen prius was manufactured till 2011 afaik mainly to compete with the Honda Insight, since the price of 3rd gen prius was about 3000$ higher than the Insight. But most of them were built for fleets services. I'm here in Japan for a brief stay and is overwhelmed by the number of prii on the roads. dpbatagoda
You get 2011 prius in Japaneese auctions. They are mostly manufactured in 2011. And obviously they are made in Japan.

Yes there are 2nd Gen Prii in 2010 and 2011...but mind you in Japan these were for fleets (i.e. commercial sales) and I believe came only in EX grades (not sure on the latter...only about 75% sure). Being a fleet/commercial model you have to keep in mind that these cars would ahve either been taxis/rental cars/owned by companies for their workers' travelling so might be high on usage on this end.... USUALLY, models of a car after a recall will already have the recall fix...
jayashantha12345
Thanks for ur reply.. kindly tell me What are the features in EX grade ? features like auto parking, key less entry etc available ??

Most manufacturers, including Toyota, have websites where you can enter a particular cars VIN number and it will tell you if that car has ever been under recall and whether it had the recall problem fixed. This is another way to check a particular vehicle's history.
