Maybe the van hit a large puddle of water and the driver lost control. There was no water on the spot. It was clear. 0 Scooter
Super to see the road open. So, how the accident recovery stuff work? Are there CCTV cameras or does someone have to phone an incident in? Are the recovery services charged or a freebee cos u paid the toll? Anyway you pay the toll at the exit so towing charges might get accumulated to that! What I am surprised to see is the road looks clear in both directions. Might be cos its too early in the day... 0 Scooter
And, not being critical guys, how come not everyone on the road at the recovery site is wearing high-viz gear? And how come the police vehicle - OK, with flashing lights but no high-viz livery to the rear - is parked behind and partially obscuring the much bigger hig-viz recovery vehicle? Motoway best-practice is to use the big, high-viz vehicle to create a fend position for the recovery team. That sandwich position between the protecting vehicles and the broken down vehicle is statistically a horrible place to be working. Anyway, 'spose everyone is on a bit of a learning curve . But at 100+kph and often with live running lanes, nasty things happen real quick on motorways; particularly if you've got a bit of rain about........ I dont think they would wreck a new hiace in order to prove that IMO they should install some led warning boards (Like on the x-trail) about the road conditions ahead, at least on some over head passes. Exactly: Its early days. Reading the experiences the first policemen patrolling the M highways in England narrate, (someone posted a link previously) its obvious there's a large learning curve for the public as well as for the first responders. I'm just glad they have some sort of recovery team, ambulances, and dedicated police vehicles assigned to the highway!

0 liya
Cant we like give these two morons in the van an award or something? After all, they managed to achieve a first. How 'bout "Deshamanya Aascharya Mahamaargaye Kudupattang Visharadha" or sumptin like that ? of course, we can simply give them both a Doctorate too. That's what Doctorates are for aren't they?
