Honda Or Mitsu?

Bracket

Question

Guys,

I'm posting this on behalf of one of my friend who's going to buy a vehicle (B/N)

He was about to go for a Honda, honda City to be exact. I recommended him the mitsubishi lancer beacuse it is a japanese vehicle while Honda is an indian made one.

Both the cars are in same price bracket - 3.5 mil, but the city comes loaded with all the accessories including paddle shift too, my friend said.

So guys, if it were you, what would you buy? Mind this car is a keeper, he bought a permit for 8 lakhs and He won't be replacing the car in 5 years. Plus, he's doing a 60km drive a day, so good fuel economy and reliability is expected. He was about to buy a prius but after seeing recently toyota has did a mass recall, he has changed his mind.

This is utter craziness, a car maker paying compensation to settle a probe is not a new thing, in fact this is relating to their 2009 massive recalls. thereafter toyota turn much proactive in dealing with defects and safety concerns. Its not only Toyota is recalling, others also do..in fact its a corrective approach to address the issues in as and when they are identified.

Toyota is paying up to bury the negative publicity. Basically the whole of Detroit is against them and there is a massive political lobby against Foreign manufacturers who ironically employ US workers.

We can't count on US political lobbies, as they penalize foreign especially Japanese and Chinese manufacturers with severe measures while rescuing and safe guarding the local manufactures saying those are too big to fail.

GM's most recent recall due to ignition switch issue will not effect the company much although they knowingly withheld and did nothing on the issue since 2003.
