Change Divisional Council

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

My car was registered under divisional council of Kurunegala (NW) and last year my family moved to Nugegoda. Does any one know the procedure of changing divisional council which revenue licence need to pay.

Cheers

Already discussed (second and third posts in the below thread answer your question):

In my case, there is no ownership transfer. I'm the first owner and I just changed my residence from kurunegala to nugegoda.

I'm just looking for a way to avoid going back to kurunegala to pay revenue licence fee. I have looked many threads, but non of them discussed of changing divisional council without changing ownership.

Go there once a year and meet old friends and have a meal from your old favorite "Petti Kade". Or do it online.

Online renewal is not possible for the North Western province. Only Western and Southern province is currently supported.

I'm sorry, I misread your question. I'll leave someone with experience to answer your question, but I think the below link has info that would help you. It looks like you need a CMT 72 application.

When changing province from Westerns to Central (with ownership of course) I had to take a document called Docket ('Nobendipatha' in Sinhala) from RMV to prove that my previous owner had no outstanding to pay. I think you have to submit same document to your new divisional secretariat. Yoy may call 1919 ( government information center) and get full details. (Please update this thread when you done.)
