Car Jerk For Initial Km's

Hi guys,

First of all I have search the forum and could not find a solution to the one I have

So the issue is - the car is used to jerk (kind of fuel miss – this is what I feel) for initial kilometers and thereafter it disappeared. So I have taken to a mechanic and the funny part is the problem was not popped up even for initial kilometers. However, the mechanic have checked the car with a trail run, check for clutch slipping and tell that everything is ok. Further, the car was ok for two to three days and today the problem popped up again and last for initial KM’s and gone after that.

So guys what could be the issue based on your experience. Any suggestion?. Since this is not a persistent issue even mechanics also does not have any clue. Please help

Note : My car is a manual transmission

EFI? Carburettor? How many kms has the car done since your last tune-up?

This is a EFI and tune up is done and ran only 2000+ KM's. further the tune up mechanic (Mr.Dhammika) ask me to put the ABRO fuel injector cleaner in to the tank and that was also done too.

When you say "initial kilometers" is it only from a cold start or does it happen every time time you stop and start?

If it appears only in cold start I am not surprised that your mechanic could not find it cos usually engine would be heated up by the time you take the car to him. Does the engine rev up to something like 1500RPM when you first start and then drop to its normal value of around 800 when the engine heats up? Better do it with AC off. In case if you don't have a RPM meter just listen to the engine sound at idle - the pitch at cold the start should be almost twice that you get when the engine is hot. If not, your cold start mechanism is not doing what it is supposed to do. What's the vehicle in question BTW?

The car is Mazda BJ5P - and there is no coolent level drop.

So again today the funny things is the problem was disappeared and it didnt even came up with cold start. However, i have top up the fuel yesterday. anyways looking for the issue again. weird issue i ever came across .

Can you check your plug wires? I had a similar issue and it was caused by a loose plug wire. The wire was about half a centimetre shorter than the older one and it was short enough to get loose with vibration.

Thanks i should check that too. but after the top up, the issue is missing..

Hi guys,

Finally I found a temporary solution for my weird issue which I was sharing with you early.

So itz like this – whenever it gives me the Jerk (Kind of fuel miss) I switch of the engine and start again – thereafter problem will get disappeared for one – two days.

I wonder any of the members here have faced this before, if so please share your experience and suggest me a place to repair.

I guess this is some kind of a sensor problem,I had the same issue some years back with my nissan,It was a randmoly maulfunitiong MAF sensor.If possible get a ecu scan done with a good OBD Tool.

As Gayan correctly said, today i got ECU scan done for my car and found out the TPS sensor is giving problems. so time for TPS sensor hunt.

If you guys know a good place please let me know. couldnt find it on Delkanda area.

What's the part number ? Something like BP2Y18911A? Must be a Nippon Denso (ND) OEM.

According to this site, it's FS0113SL0. Is that the one?

The part number and the OEM manufacturer is indicated on the back of the unit. You can either read it or post a picture here. (I thought you were looking for the part in Delkanda and assumed you have the part in hand. If you just ask for a TPS sensor for Mazda BJ5P from Delkanda shops without the part in your hand you would never find it from them.)
