How was it sent ?EMS ? Courier service. If courier service ask the local agent. If EMS u can try your local post office to see if it got logged there, if not gi ti the central post office and check. In eithercase it is a matter of giving the tracking number and asking one of those parties.

If they have given you a tracking reference;

Use one of the following appropriately, or they may have recommended another as per country, item etc

http://track-chinapost.com

https://www.17track.net/

http://www.trackitonline.ru/

If the the parcel has already reached the Sri Lanka Postal Service,

you may use the same Reference and track it through the following

https://ipslight.upu.org/

(User name / Password - slpost)

You'll have to try it many times as the whole of Sri Lanka logs in with this one account to track parcels.

And if these items are less than $10, the tracking detail they give is usually a fake one, also keep in mind stuff takes 3 weeks or more to reach usually, unless its courier.

You should wait for more days I think.

What is the courier agency your parcel is being handled?

See following screeshots of 3 parcels tracked previously by SG Post and China post.

Parcel_Tracking_1.jpg Parcel_Tracking_2.jpg

Parcel_Tracking_3.jpg

It shows a screenshot of the tracking details from www.trackitonline.ru.

Few parcels were shipped few months ago via SingaporePost and ChinaPost.

If it is china post, it is difficult to determine the tracking details (see above two images shipped via ChinaPost).

Most importantly it is possible to know if the parcel is held by customs.

(1) One reason for delaying may be , detain the consignment by the customs (If consignment is here by Sri Lankan Customs or if is not reached to Sri Lanka, by that end customs). For some electronic parts it is very common. Courier agent will request some additional information/proof from you for clearing.

Please check this as well.

(2) Some tracking services offer your e-mail to register on-line for processing movement. You will get e-mail alerts while passing every single event in the process. If possible try to register.

(3) Basically almost famous courier lines deliver goods without any delay most of the times. But some instances, they connected with some local agents which are not much efficient . Ask your seller to check with courier line and inform you their local agent for Sri Lanka.

+1 Sampath, I too feel that the item is held by customs, did u check on the slpost site I linked earlier? Give it a try.

If you are comfortable you may share what you imported, so that we too can watch-out for this delay and all of us love to hear about new car parts :)

YUP, some sellers provide this FOC for premium goods, You get email updates when the item is en-route. An awesome feature but quite the anxiety builder :violent-smiley-011:

You've only waited a week! Unless it's DHL or UPS or something, it will take a while to reach via normal post. And you can't rely on tracking info too much. Tbh, I don't even bother to track these days.

Wait anither week or so. If it gets held up at customs, you'll be notified rather quickly and you can go pick it up.

I had some electronic stuff shipped to and from the US by Courier services, usually it take 7-10 days. When I ship goods via EMS I use this site to track. Slpost website is useless. Like Hoonigan said don’t rely on tracking updates too much, sometimes it takes a while to update the status.
