Hi guys,

Whilst ive only just joined the forums, ive been reading them for years, so its nice to finally be a member :) Anyways, I currently drive an 07 A/T Rx8 which is an absolute joy, however the cost of fuel is starting to make it difficult for me to use it as regularly as I do. As such, im looking for a more practical and fuel economical second car which is still fun to drive. Ive been wracking my brains as to what i can do with a budget of around max 5 mil but cant think of anything suitable. Whilst hybrids would provide me with the most economical answer, im still not entirely convinced by this option and would prefer to stay conventional. Ideally a newish car is what i want, but im open to options/suggestions.

PLEASE help :P

Cheers

Yeah new one. Problem is finding one for sale, especially non-hybrid one. Agents have been telling it'll do 12 but that could be combined (city+outstation) fuel economy. Take it with a grain of salt.

Skyactiv ones are good in terms of performance and economy but the agents imported ones are not skyactiv engines. Not sure how Colon*al doing now.

Yeah, been trawling classifieds for some time now and I'm not sure I've seen any non hybrid ones, would be nice to get behind the wheel of one and see how it drives. From what I've read (mainly on here) the non hybrid agent imported cars don't have all the bells and whistles of the Axela hybrids? It's something I'm considering but want to find out more first.

If reason for buying a second car for 5 million is purely due to the RX-8 fuel consumption, arent you better off pumping fuel into the RX-8 from that 5 million anyway? You can pump more than 35000 litres of Octane 95 with that money. Just a thought.

I should probably have have been quite a bit more clear in my first post. This second car would be in replacement of the rx8. Whilst the fuel consumption is important, the practicality is very much so too. The rx8 is a ridiculously low car as I'm sure you all know, and traveling with more than two people in the car can become quite a painful experience. I'm looking for something that is a more suitable daily, but can be fun too.

I'll also add, that I'm not set on 5mill, it's simply the max I'm willing to go to meet my needs as I have not seen a lot of cars that meet my needs of practical, relatively economical, fun and somewhat new for much less, that's why I'm here :)

May I remind you of your first post, you never stated how painful the car is to have more than 2 people in it, you have only mentioned about how hard it is to maintain it due to high fuel consumption... so next time you make a post, be crystal clear of your requirement...

Yeah non-hybrid ones missing many bells and whistles. It matters only if you care, things like head up display. Just go to the agent and try checking out.

Dear kid.

You are quite a different fellow who worries about fuel consumption atleast without calculating exact fuel consumption of existing car.

There's a gadget called calculator, get hold to one and do some maths, decide weather this additional investment is worth.

In my opinion your fuel cost is justifiable on any ground.

Assume you buy any decent jap,you would save 50%of your fuel cost.

That is 30000/2 =15000 rs per month.

According to your use You should run your new 5 million car for 27 years to cover up the investment.

Common sense seems not so common as wealth.. Sigh
