You mean revving the engine ?
Gasing whilst in N or P would imply (at least to me)..putting petrol in the car whilst it is on N or P.

In my view...revving the car either on N or P would not be any different from revving in N or revving in P. N and P are transmission states. States at which the drive from the engine is pretty much disconnected from the transmission itself.

The issue is the impact of revving itself. Revving does add extra stress on the engine..just like the car running. The issues arise depending on how you rev. Are you red-lining it ? are you doing quick rev ups and down ? This does add undue stress on the engine. Is this going to make your engine fall apart ? Provided there is nothing wrong with your car...no....it might reduce the engine life and service life of linked components by a negligible amount.
Then are you revving whilst the engine is cold ? Especially before the oil has reached operating tempreture ? This is bad for the engine....

It is all about how you stress your engine with this revving...
