Are you american? scolding srilankans?

Why can only Americans scold sri Lankans? Its not just sri lankans even at the US auto shows most people cant help touching the cars and sitting in them. I've been to a couple of US auto shows and you think finger prints are bad, people in the US autoshows steal the shift nobs off cars.

Ignorance doesn’t depend on the nationality!.... why! were you one of those 'fingerprint" guys?... if we accept this behavior saying "ah is it alright" soon we gonna experience the same situation that lalithster mentioned!!! Yet! Somehow, people like you will find its okay!! <_< Its really sad!

Went on Saturday evening and thankfully had got a pass through my friend at SLIC so did not have to wait in the long q's to buy a ticket. the usual collection of classics and vintage with the surprise addition of the Red Lotus-which was the pick for me and that classy XJS Jag. Loved the triumph spitfires also, must commend the owners for their dedictation in maintaining these vehicles.

The modern section- The new Merc C class looked neat and the S Class was looking so damn expensive was even afraid to go near it. Loved the interior of the Locally assembled Micro Rexton. Also was another eyecatcher - the 407 coupe, looked real neat.

Overall good show as always.

Went to the Motorshow Yesterday. ( Last Day ).

I would say i was very very disappointed.

1 ) Motorshow means the Enthusiasts should have time to study the vehicale and have the ability learn new things including Specifications / Technology and Prices.

It was so overpacked that if you were just glimmering at one car you will drop dead because people push you.

Except for Few Car Stalls none of them had no information whats so ever. May be because the Average Joe Like Us could not afford some of the cars.

2 ) Organsiers should have started the Show at 10 am rather than 3 pm to spread the crowd. It was basicaly like a Cattle Ranch.

3 ) I would agree with Chang. Why a Motorshow when you could look at the vehicales on the road, Because all the cars which were there had no information / no prices / no specifications. Organises should have had more flavour by having some Japanese Sports Cars and may be something special.

4 ) This is the first time where a motorshow was held and may be 0.01 % of the people could afford those vehicales except the Chinese Junk. I guess we were are all looking at the vehicales like we were at the Zoo. I guess this what we have VOTED FOR. Its like a Chimpanzee showing the Middle finger to us. What can we do. Just smile and go back home thinking that we can never afford those vehicales.

:( HOPE THINGS CHANGE NEXT TIME.

I think it happened once in a while. Now exhibit owners pretty much remove those parts on all open cars as a precaution.

this motorshow was an excellent effort for the most part, much more of interest to the enthusiast than the other show held recently.... of course CERTAIN tastes were not catered to, but you cant please 'em all :)

the new car show was somewhat disappointing as there was a distinct lack of info about most of the cars on display, and the salespeople for the most part looked completely uninterested. some big names were notable absentees.

the outside displays however were absolutely breathtaking!!, highlights for me included the Graham-paige tourer looking very 30's chicago gangster, the green camaro, complete with skunk stripes, all the big yankee land yachts and of course the great line up of classic brit open tops.....

all kudos to the classic car club for a job well done on their part..

its upto the exhibitor/organizers to decide how they want the cars displayed. IMO, ppl should be allowed to touch the cars as long as they dont leave (or leave with) any permanent impressions. NAIAS hires "wipers" for the Detroit auto show where they are assigned a set of cars. There are many jobs created by hiring these ppl and they consider it a privilege to be assigned to a prestigious brand. I spoke with the guy wiping down the Audi S-line and he had worked the show many years and had finally moved opto the Audi's. Ofcourse the McLaren SLR was un-touchable and the fkn Vanquish was kept behind glass at Detroit while ppl are allowed to even sit in million-dollar cars at some smaller car-shows

as far as taking parts off display cars....well.. I was tempted at Detroit in 06, but I didnt think I would make it far packing the V10 off the M5.

Very true the classic and vintage car displayed was the crowd puller for me was def worth the visit specialy bumblebee wit his green colours on (camero 77) and the spitfires  ...the rest was just crap plain and simple uninteresting and a waste of time to go look at vehicles with finger print smudge marks and in ques longer than the bread ques in the 70`s era :violent-smiley-030: .......except for the models who were standing next to the C Class at the entrance to the building.... :jumping-smiley-013:

My Two Cents
