Guys Please Help Me .

sbnisan

Question

hi all,

Today i faced a serious problem in my FB15(automatic transmission). In the morning when i start the car it displayed red battery indicator, saying that battery problem is there. I ignored that and drove for about 10 KM, an suddenly the car stopped in the middle of the road. And it showed all the indicators. And after a minute i could start the vehicle and could drive it for another 2km, and then it stopped it again. and this scenario happened 4 more times, and i however managed park it at office. Now i cant drive it back to any place,

i can start and drive for 100m and then it stops. and i can start again after some time.

Has anybody experienced such problem ?. please help me do diagnose the problem. And please recommend me a way to get it fixed at my place(wellawatta), or a way how i can tow it back home/garage...

please... help me ASP . (need a way to go home :)

Seems like ur battery is not charging. Check the alternator.

Go to the nearest battery service centre. They will help you.

It’s normal to show all indicators when the engine stops while the key is in ON position. Don't worry u can drive home in the evening. :alc:

Same issue with a college’s march. Her car just did’nt move more than 10M.

The issue is with the alternator in most cases – U can use jumper cables and it would start but moving it is a problem.

Final conclusion – after towing it with the greatest difficulty of that as we….

Both cars mine & hers having hazard lights on and all u still get the blooming 3 wheelers & bike buggers trying to go between the 2 card while it’s been towed with the tow cable :violent-smiley-099::action-smiley-060:

Recommend U get the alternator checked… if your battery is new then it’s deffa the alternator..

All the best

I think he just owns a Toyota corolla which never breaks down, needs no maintenance, and fixes itself when problems arise :) and hmmmmm what do I see in the horizon ........ a FLYING PIG :D

No offense to the original poster of this, but this is what I don't get about people here: If the car is moving, no matter how many warning lights and buzzers are going off, its full steam ahead.

When your car displays a warning light... shouldn't you stop an explore?

Well.. someone here suggested Pala, I agree, they are very good at electrical stuff (though they seem to have jumped the shark lately). They have a mobile service, you can call them and ask them to come over

Yeah, them Toyota's never have the batteries going bad, eh?

Have you tried jumping in a lake recently? Of all the moronic pea brained .....

He said Nissan Users, not Nissan Cars ;)

There's nothing inherently wrong with Nissan's,.. it's the people who use them... As the saying goes, problem between keyboard and chair.. or steering wheel and chair in this case.

Though... it's not just Nissan's. Local chaps are capable of killing toyota's even (though it takes a bit more work).

I agree 100% with that.

And, pray tell, what exactly is wrong with Nissan users? You want to phrase that answer VERY carefully.

Guys… I too am not much of a Nissan fan - unless it’s a Primera or a Skyline…..

These are things that happen… irrespective of a Toyota Nissan – sure some cars have less trouble other a bit more……

Just like people…. Some fall ill frequently other less frequently…

Check the alternator… get it fixed… and start running….. and life goes on ….

Hi.. Guys,

It is great to have a set of nice people willing to help each other when one is in trouble. I greatly appreciate your advices.

Finally i could solve the problem. I took the vehicle to a alternator repairing place and they diagnosed that the voltage regulator IC of the alternator is bad.(they said due to a water leak) . Before repairing the alternator battery voltage was around 11.75-12.25V. now it goes upto 13.85V. Now the vehicle is doing pretty well. Thanks again for all your valuable responses...

great to hear that you got the issue sorted :)

regulators are funny things...too little voltage and your battery won't charge and too much of it also won't make the battery charge :)

I've had a similar issue sometime back and the regulator was the culprit :)

well there's this belief that they tend to be cheap, drive like mainacs.. and oh, and have huge ego's .. of course that's all purely an absurd generalization, (and it only applies to Sunny drivers anyway)

and pray tell, what exactly did you mean by that? the general assumption if you make the statement "See nissan users" is that you are in fact talking about people who drive nissan cars, since to the best of my knowledge, Nissan do not make washing machines or refrigerators and so on.... so you really cant fault anybody for assuming things, you've brought it upon your own silly self by some of your previous statements.

Several people have said this before but it doesnt seem to get into that head of yours, (which makes us all worry about the state of the inside of it, hence ash's advice to seek professional help, which you might want to consider)...... TAKE OFF THE BLINKERS MATE!!!
