Hi Guys.. after 3 years being car-less in Europe, finally I decided to get back in the business again and this time the car I'm aiming to buy is a Mercedez Benz SL320 Old Timer (93/94 YOM). Anybody who has experience with this car wanna share their feedback?

PS: Thou shalt henceforth call me BenzLover :D

Thy heart is most fickle, and thy love most treacherous, one moment dost thou cling with passionate devotion to one automobile, full of steadfast certitude, and the next thou dost cast it aside without hesitation, bestowing thy favor upon another automobile entirely :(

Alright so I finally bought a 1997 Facelift SL320 with 143k km's in the ODO previously owned by Celebrity Thomas Anders from Modern Talking.. I have few questions. When I click on this button in the left, an alarm beeps and the circle in the middle console below the Cassette player starts blinking. What does it do?

That is definitely an aftermarket switch. Here is the original bezel, you either get the one below and some with the optional headlight leveling toggle switch...

Also why is this light from the radio player always keeps blinking even without having to start the car? doesnt the battery consume cuz of this?

Anti-theft/security system? The draw is quite low so it doesn't kill your battery if it is in good nick. In some cars the lights blink and in some they go off after some time (until the car shakes, door tries to get opened, windows are touched, or the key gets close).

NGL ❤️ Been lowkey checking out the classifieds for one of these. 300/320s seem to go for about 3.5mil yen and 500s 4 to 5 mil yen. There are a surprising number of one-owner low mileage cars for sale. But no....can't get one. The road taxes alone would be nearly a 700USD per year. Plus another 1200 USD per year for shaken/roadworthy-certification.

Yeah even here there are quite a lot of low mileage SL's as owners drive this only as a Summer Car. And yes the tax for this for me is also around 300 euros per year

😮 Interesting. I always thought it was a retro-fit done by owners, not a factory one.
That switch looks a little too ghetto for something done by Merc noh? Makes a dashboard with knobs and switches that look elegant and could last a nuclear holocaust, and then they go ahead and stick that $1 plastic switch from Autozone without even as much as a sticker to say what it is.

I can get the funky love-hotel lights for it, but why would the parking sensors have a switch?

:D The sensor works when I switch it on (press the button down), and if not it doesnt work. I switched it on because even when I park is at my garage it gives the beeping noise because I park the front close to the wall
