I saw this at Ceylon Motor Show today. Air conditioning system controls and display was better looking than what we get in Raize/Rocky.

And the feature list is quite impressive for the price too. Offers almost all the features present in the Raize Z except for the parking assistance system and 360 degree camera, these have been replaced with parking sensors on all four corners.

Compared to the 10.85mn Ativa the base spec Raize offered by Toy#ta L#nka for 11.5mn is not worth the price at all.

If I am not mistaken, the Ativa is the first DNGA based vehicle to be manufactured outside of Japan.

That is mainly due to the market positioning. The Raize/Rocky/Rex are positioned as entry-level (bottom of the ladder) crossovers so the equipment (and even refinement) is as low as they can get away with. If they make it any better, it will compete with cars like the Yaris Cross. So yeah...(I think I mentioned this earlier somewhere else as well), sometimes the export variants are better equipped/spec'd than the JDM variants.

I wonder if they will revise the prices. Probably not. Maybe offer a season offer that makes it the same price as the Ativa. The sad thing is we all know the price is high because of the badge and people are going to throw away all sense and logic and would happily pay extra just for that badge.

I am more interested in seeing the BS stories our lovely car importers will be yarning. Why would anyone buy a grey import Raize/Rocky when they can buy an Ativa with a manufacturer's warranty?  My bet is on the following possible fairytales:

1. Raize is an outdated car. Much newer models with better safety and ride comfort are there. Look at this wonderful 1.0L Yaris X we upgraded with allow wheels from Cheenen.

2. Paradua is a Malaysian car maker. Paradua is a here today,not there tomorrow sort of company. So concerns of maintenance, warranty are there. Buying a Paraduwa car is a stupid financial decision.

Peeps who bought base spec Raize for 11.5mn will riot if TL do this 😂
