Popular Garages In Sri Lanka

Hi Guys

Was wondering if you guys could consider giving a list of popular garages/people for various types of car work

I know this is common knowledge but it would help me and perhaps other users who aren't familiar with locations in SL (if any exist)

I'm asking this because I hear a lot of people mentioned (e.g. carburettor banda, zakie, etc) and I have no idea where these people are located

Some garages are good for some specific repairs. The make or model does not matter to them.

What exactly is your problem with the car? Stating that would help to make a suggestion...

I have seen 4 garages around Piliyandala; they say they are specialists in brake repairs. I have NO experience with any of them.

2 on the 120 route towards Katuwawala and other 2 along 255 route, not very far from the Miriswatte junction.

However, any decent mechanic would be able to solve issues you have mentioned; unless it is something to do with ABS.

Does anyone know a garage/mechanic/forum member who has an "ABS sensor pinpoint tester"? I have an issue with either my hub or the ABS sensor wiring harness - need to find out which without replacing the hub.

I bought a Lancer CS1A recently. I need to do a complete check about the vehicles condition (whether the timing belts needs to be changed, does the engine need any tuning, etc). Any recommendable place except for UniMo?

Welcome to the forum and welcome to the Lancer family.

UniMo will not charge you for an inspection. They will do the necessary checks and give you an inspection report free of charge. Just call them up to confirm. I personally think thy're the best, if it is just an inspection. They will of course tell you that you need to attend to every nut and bolt in the car, in practice you really don't need to. Just be mindful of that and you'll be all good.

If I were you, I'd get the timing belt changed anyway - just to be safe. Make sure you use a genuine spares for this repair.
