Not a Fiat. Not a Euro. It's a Jap car.

Quite a few of these came down to Sri Lanka in the 1980s. There were petrol and diesel versions, I really doubt if many of them are alive now, because the body was notorious for getting corroded.

So these were assembled in asia, but its still an American make right ?

AFAIK it is a Mazda-Ford (based on Mazda 626), just like Ford Laser (which is based on Mazda 323).
