What Is The Coolest Mobile Phone????

Recommended Posts

I thought ur fancy new phone had a keyboard?

Naturally. I bought one of the two models that have a decent keyboard :P

I just wanna upgrade to something bigger. This has a great keyboard, but the phone itself too small. And too slow. And I want Android 2.2. Not sure this model will get that upgrade. But I will live with it until something better comes out with a good keyboard. Then I'll buy that and give this to dad :D

Hey, I'm a tech guy, I like gadgets.

Ha! I was never a phone guy until Android came out. I was of those "phones are for calls and sms" school of thought ppl. I used a K608i from Madmax's second hand store all this time!

More to the point, severe financial constraits :)

I'm reviving this thread - almost after 1 year --- to get your opinions on the latest phones in the market.

If you see the ads these days -- you sure get confused/lost as what to purchase.

So what's the best mobile phone these?

[iMO just because a phone is expensive doesn't make it the best phone. I'm looking at best features : value for money - ratio]

All opinions are welcome :)

Anybody remember the good old 3310 & 3315? At one time, those were the most popular models in SL. Pretty hardy & reliable phones too.

Still have it.....!! and loving it

Right now i use a nokia but im hoping to get a blackbery. It had been my dream for sometime to get a blackverry and im getting at it. Just waiting till it lands.

Hi cool nice to see some HTC fans. I'm using a Desire S. Thought of Incredible S but Gingerbread coupled with the aluminium unibody swayed me in the way of the Desire S. Sensation was just announced but not available for sale when I got the Desire S in late April.

With regards to the HTC Sensation I would advise folks to not go for it as later this year HTC will be releasing 2 new devices with NFC technology coupled with 4G LTE roughly of the same price as the Sensation. Processor speeds, Cores, RAM, Video, will all be same if not better. There is also a chance that they may be bundled with Ice Cream Sandwich which would be awesome. But NFC is going to be amazing since the tech may come into banks and airports soon. Plus sharing between devices is gonna become so easy.

Had a Nokia 5530 before. Great phone, but all it's tech simply made it cumbersome for regular use. So I switched to a 6120 Classic. It's compact, light, easy to use, easy to store, reasonably priced, and does exactly what a mobile phone should do and nothing else... now that's a cool phone to me.

I too use a Desire S. Had a Tattoo, TyTN, and O2 XDA Exec (HTC Universal) previously, so I'm kind of partial to HTC. I would say the best phones coming out are definitely Android based, and I wouldn't cross out WP7 just yet; the first iPhone initially had very very few features (even now the so called multitasking is half baked at best). I have used the HTC Trophy (WP7) and I fell in love with the interface. I love 2D tiles with 3D effects.

the only difference between Desire s ad inc S is the os n cam, 8mp primary and 1.3mp sec in inc s, also HTC Singapore has announced they will be releasing Ginger for inc s later this month, have used HTC Touch Pro2 and then HD2, HD2 was an amazing phone, i even ran Ginger in HD2, anyway with the Sensation the only worry is the battery life, anyway NFC will be amazing but not sure when they going to release phones with NFC cus they told sometime back they will be releasing HTC Scorpion 1.5 Ghz cpu lol

Galaxy S II is the phone to beat nowadays. I use a Galaxy S and I cant believe what the improved processor power will be capable of doing in the S II.

I can't wait to get my hands on one of these :)

My favourites would be the Sony Ericsson Play and the Neo.....Hmm Android :) and also my current runner a Vivaz ..... really an awesome phone even with a symbian OS

+1 for the SE Vivaz Pro. Being using one for the past couple of months and like it. Extremely solid and very capable.

Has anyone here used a Motorolla Milestone 1 or 2 ? Rather curious to hear what they are like to live with...

I found it quite depressing to live with, personally. We have a Milestone 1 (The original Droid) in the office for development purposes. It's a very solid device, you can feel it when you slide the keyboard out or heft it in your hand. Performance is less than stellar though, having only 256MB RAM and a slow processor works against the very sharp screen (has 54 more pixels lengthwise than my Desire S), however I've read the CPU, being a Cortex, can be successfully overclocked to 800MHz, and even 1GHz, but stability does suffer at the latter speed. If you're going for a Motorola, I'd suggest an Atrix, but their Motoblur interface is quite inferior to HTC Sense (which is tops hands down).

Do you know if the local HTC place on Charles Drive might take a look at my Desire S (bought abroad) which strangely resets itself sometimes. It's just happened a couple of times but I can't figure out why.

Does the phone reset like it reboots, or does HTC Sense crash and restart? I faced similar crashes when I ran a task killer, so if you have any disable them and see. Failing that, try a factory reset. I would suggest against having it looked at by anyone unless you experience a clear failure on part of the hardware or operating system.
