  1. Itake my suggestion back....... How right U are DON, How on earth could I not see that... LOL Yup... Babi Achchi's bicycle it is then milindu is right.... it's hard to fix ar put down a ballpark figure for a car... they seem to quote absurd prices at time... I agree with the Honda prices.... I sold my Interpaly in 2004 for abt 500,000 now the same series cars in worst conditions sell for abt 7lks. Same with the Defenders & land rovers…I was looking at going for a Pick up but a decent one comes up to 2.8 Mil ….. I think they are trying to make people buy Indian makes –under what economic advantages I really don’t know…. But the fact is not every one likes these maruti’s… personally I have difficulty in fitting in to 1 of them same with the Szuki swift – just not enough leg room forget putting some 1 behind my seat unless he/she is in a baby seat…. Like some 1 said – Crazy Lanka….
  2. Naaaa.... Me not in to Indian Shit.... better go with the bulok cart...... Jaha... yaman rathi
  3. wow...... mahinda Chinthanaya.......smart move hence we got more 3 wheelers, more honda hero bikes and maruti's
  4. My mother car had a similar problem, an Auto wingroad….. after getting the fuel filter, air filter and spark plugs changed with a throttle body clean the car shakes violently when on neutral- can only drive in the D1 mode. The problem was – carbon causing a vale to jam….. according to the agents as the guy who fixed it was not able to solve the problem.
  5. Hay Same here - A small one would be nice
  6. Hay Pila, Thanks a lot – I went to the joint on Sat and did a total work on the car, cut & polish as well as an interior clean. Great Job. Hat’s off to Sigi & his team. Price was quite reasonable too. Chammu
  7. I S I second that Notion - Bloody useless Plc & a bunch of As% Ho*%ls… I second that Notion - Bloody useless Plc & a bunch of As% Ho*%ls… Anyway – what’s with all these Chinese cars ? I mean looks like U get them in any name U want….. Sure I agree on Chinese electronic stuff such as communication equipment, home appliances etc….. ahhh and not to mention the babes but CARS ? Are they safe ? How long will they last B 4 falling apart etc….
  8. [MAchang trust me the 15" alloy idea is after much though as i am very worried on my suspension , so with after much convincing from Porkster i am going to use 15" with 55" tyres not 50. mmmmmmmm U said it your self “not even 1%........” U'r right abt that..... looks really ahhhhh..... Shall not rub it in...... 15 is good, even 14 would do lovely on your motor..... my personnel favorite been black although I have silver on mine ..... Isn’t 55 a bit on the low profile side ? ...... Since our roads are just as close to F1 racing tracks.... u may wannna get some expert advice.... then again it depends on conering etc.... try Rodestone N series tyres form Am*la on Malay St. speak to Sanjeewa..... ( Sorry not trying to promote da plc..... just giving some options - hope it's OK A/L team ) Anyway all the best
  9. Hi Hola, Like madmax and other have said.. it could be well to do with the tyre … Well the design such as the V grove – I was told gives a hum noise…. I’ve put them and there is a slight hum…. Then the compound of the tyre – Harder tyre’s will last linger but there could be a noise …. On the other hand the softer ones are more quieter but don’t last very long…. I think it has a lot to do with the Van tyre that U were talking abt. Good luck

    Engine Oils

Hay Hola, just put in castrol Magnetic - It's supposed to have magnetic partials in the oil and it clings on to the engine... etc.... I was told to change it every 80000K ( I don't really thrash my baby either... occasionally may be.... How is the GTX ?
  12. Hi Guys, I’ve seen and heard a lot about the new type of air filters ( Kone type – eg. K & N ) and how they help the performances of the car and burn fuel better… I’m not in to racing or any kind of stuff like that but thought I would look at fitting 1 before I really get too old for those kind of things. I got a Mazda 323, BJ5P model with a 1.6 Manual transmission. I saw some filters K&N and another brand @ M.cade. My car is looked after by a guy based in Papiliyana whos has worked for the local agent ( Mazda) and even in the middle east- He’s quite good with Mazda & Ford stuff…. So I put my idea across to him. He said that there had been several who had done this and they all got it removed as the airflow sensor got busted…. What he says is that a mesh filter will not stop the dust which the conventional filter does and the computer or whatever will not be able to adjust the air to fuel ratio etc… thus damaging the sensor which I was told is quite expensive. IS this the case in all filters or due to using cheap quality filter…. ? Is this the same with all cars with this kind of sensors …? Since this guy is quite knowledgeable too on the Mazda’s I would like to get a additional opinion…. Much appreciate it if you guys can shed some light…. Thx Mazdaspeed ( should have gone as zoom zoom instead )

    Insurance Claim

Boy am I glad to see the last bit U typed........ I was beginning to wonder if I was going insane as every 1 kept telling me that I was.... Simply said...... I SERUIOUSLY WANT TO RAM 3 WHEELERS AND BIKERS WHO ARE RECKLESS LIKE THAT DUM A#S Extremely sorry to hear what happened to your car.... naturally you are a bloke who loves your car... and I've had a few incidents like that myself..... harshansenadhir & Velocity dam good advice... really appreciate it..... Like you said both Bus drivers and 3 wheelers know that cars are fully insured so they just don't give a dam... and we - don't bother as we don't want to go through the hassle..... end of the day we are the 1's who have sustained most of the damage... whilst the other Bas#ted just walks away... I even wanted to go to the extent of smashing something of the other guys vehicle so that both of us have equal damage – call me insane….. but that’s what I really wanna do… All the best on the repairs and stuff …..
  14. Hay Hola, All the best on your B day man.... Hope this 2007 will bring you good fortune's
  15. Ya..... I'm no expert on Fiats but form what I've experianced and got to know from a few friends.... it's pritty much a crap - ya it is cute..... Fiat stands for : ( I was told ) Fix It Again Tomorrow mmmmm does look like a mate ..... like when u got a 80 year old guy (Fiat/Beatle )knocking a 18 year old chick (QQ) MONSTER........??????? Come on......
  16. Can agree to that up to a limit- this blooming thing has been going on for over 20 years now - main reason been our politicians and others making a living out of it - To hell with the country and the people.... I too am hoping the economy would pick up after the war...... I'm happy on what the current gov. is doing with the war.... let's just hope it ends soon. As Hola said Singapore wanted to be like Sri Lanka.... now look where they are and where we are ..... sad man....
  17. Well having gone through the same experiance my self a few months ago with the same budget.... you've got loads of options available. Some good advice by milindu & Devinda_Z..... Ar u a Auto or manual gear fan ...? What type of engine are u looking at 1.5 , 1.8, 2.0 or if you’re really rich anything above that Make note there is a tax for 1.8 above but clarify as I was told by some one. Naturally Toyota's & Nissan's have a good market- Honda is an excellent choice.... U got loads of them on the street though ( Hay no offence to U Honda guys ..... ) My personal choice would be a Defender with a huge crash bar to knock the Hell out of the idiot’s on the street... specially 3 wheelers - but can't have my way can I ? Naturally I would recommend a MAZDA 323 ( as my user ID would state) Not the familiar OK- the 323 GLX is pretty good... in terms of fuel and speed All the best man- just take your time and don't rush in to a decision----- U can get your fingers burnt really bad... ( through experience) Try to take it to an agent and get a full diagnosis done if it's possible.... Good luck on the hunt
  18. Hi Cool pics man- Great one ...... ya some more pics would be nice, 2 Thumps up for Mazda RX 8 ( Mazda Speed) Cheers
  19. The new routes are kind of OK but seriously during the evening I feel it's a bit clogged up. The is the situation where people zig-zag across due to most of them not knowing where to head off to. Then the problem of changing lanes with out a signal. Not to mention our SL culture " DO NOT LET ANY 1 CUT IN FRONT OF U" we seriously need to change that mentality as some folks would just be trying to change lanes. As some have said - Some large sings (Overhead) like they have in other countries would help drivers get in the lane they want earlier rather than right at the turn-off causing a block. Nice to see they are removing the islands......
  20. Hay Great.... it would be really cool.... Like some I got the same problem... I'm new to the forum.... and I would not know most of you guys by their names..... just the screen names..... Besides I'm kind of a SHY guy Count me in Unless something stupid turns up for me on that day.. Cheers
  21. Ya I agree with Duacan – Cars are becoming little makeup boxes very sweet and groovy interiors with nice lights etc… Yet it’s very sad to see the old cars moving out of the picture…. I learned to drive on my fathers Ford Escort GT – no power steering, no power mirrors….no ABS no reveres sensors… but it was a lovely experience. I personally prefer manual gears over Auto, it took me 2 months to find a decent manual Mazda. The coming to Don’s point…… Yes I strongly agree this fancy gizmo’s have given drivers to think they got the wings to fly…. Making driving a nightmare here in SL. True bus & 3 wheelers are not the only jerks around- lot of educated people too behave like idiots… and have no discipline what so ever.. Just because 1 drives a large 4 wheel jeep does not mean that all the other people should just get out of his way ( I’m not targeting any specific individual or brand of vehicle here- just in general) It would be nice to see some of the educated people behaving civilized – starting off with a simple “thank you “toot of the horn when some 1 lets you pass/gives way would be a good start… Mazdaspeed
